Founding in 2011, our mission is to provide an educational resource for animal owners, veterinary technicians and veterinarians through face-to-face classes, online courses, speaking engagements and internal medicine case consultations in order to enhance the client-veterinarian relationship and improve the healthcare of animals. Joan Norton VMD DACVIM heads our education programs and internal medicine consultation services. She is a veterinarian, board certified in large animal internal medicine. She brings her advanced education and experiences to ever class and consultation.

Services/Products

We offer education opportunities for horse owners, veterinarians and veterinary technicians through face-to-face classes, online courses and internal medicine consultations. FOR OWNERS Joan Norton VMD DACVIM provides face-to-face classes right in your own backyard! With many options to chose from, you and your friends can customize an educational package that is right for you. The Equine Education Course is a 10-hour lecture and lab series that covers what every horse owner needs to know, from anatomy and first aid care to vaccination and deworming protocols. We also offer a variety of Equine Short Courses that include 1 to 3 hour lectures and wet labs that can be delivered separately or combined for a half-day or whole-day seminar. For more information, please see the Education Seminars page on our website. Can't make it to one of our offered courses? Norton VCER also offers online education courses! In fact there are even more opportunities to learn online. In addition to the Equine Education Course and Equine Short Courses we also offer learning modules covering Camelids, Small Ruminants (sheep and goats) as well as Small Animal topics. Please see the Online Education page of our website for more information. FOR VETERINARIANS Dr. Norton offers her expertise in Large Animal Internal Medicine and several unique client education and communication opportunities to enhance the services that your practice can offer your patients. She enjoys consulting on difficult medicine cases from blood work or imaging reviews to whole case discussions. In addition to sharing her knowledge, she can help develop in-house learning opportunities for you and your associates from self-taught wet labs to organized Journal Clubs to ensure your knowledge is advanced and up to date. We also plan on offering veterinarian and veterinary technician CE courses in the Online Education portion of this site. In addition to strengthening your own knowledge base, we can work to impart valuable knowledge to your clients. This process of education seminars, social media platforms and promotional materials produces strong bonds between your practice and your clients with the ultimate goal of providing better health care for their animals both in the clinic and at home.
