- The best of family-owned Italian restaurants and one of Chicago's very first pizzerias, Adreana and Pasquale Riggio opened their little Italian restaurant on near Welles Park in 1952. Today, the family continues their tradition in Niles, serving their famous thin crust and Sicilian deep dish pan pizzas. Riggio's also dishes up the pastas - homemade raviolis, baked 4 cheese rigatoni, farfalle al pesto, roasted chicken and veal parmigianas with mouth-watering reliability. For parties large and small, families with children and teens, for banquets or catering, or for that wonderful night out, Riggio's can serve you best! Prices are reasonable, large and small parties are seated quickly and easily. We always strive to provide a warm hospitable atmosphere and great service. I received a coupon for buy one get one free dinner. Right at the entrance, we had to wait for few minutes before someone acknowledged us. They were too busy talking to each other or answering the phone! This was my first time at this restaurant. I did not notice 17% automatic gratuity until I received the check. If the services was OK, I would not mind, but the waitress was in a bad mood, hardly came to see if we needed anything and just did not look like she wanted to be there. My son's pork chops did not have the fat trimmed and were just too chewy. They tasted nothing better than pork chops that I make at home using ""shake n bake"". For desert, one cannoli was $5.00!! My food was OK, nothing spectacular. I am very disappointed and will not be returning.

My friend's mom has been going to this restaurant very frequently and on our last visit, they ordered Chicken Catchatory all white meat and was told it would take a half hour. We waited and when we were finally served it was all dark meat and was offered to have them redo it but considering the time, we asked the Hispanic manager if we could get a discount. He said he would take care of us next time which next time he conveniently forgot. My friend who ordered pizza said it was the worse he had, they made it very bad. From my own personal experience, I have been served undercooked pasta noodles as the other reviewer said on this board. My biggest gripe is the really callous managers that work here and the food is just average, nothing great to speak of. The pizza has no taste and the ingredients do not really gel.

Riggio's sent us a coupon that was supposed to save us money. As it turned out we did not read or see the fine print said a mandatory 17% gratuity would be added, thus we actually paid 3 dollars more than if we never used it. It is absolutely terrible as we have been a great customer of this restaurant and very much doubt we will ever go back

We have ben going to Riggio's for many years. However, the last two visits have been very disappointing.
On our last visit this week, we ordered the Lufrano Special and Chicken. It took an hour for us to be severed. The sausage was burnt, the pasta was uncooked and the special was lacking sauce. The chicken came with steamed broccoli that was bright green and tasteless. Chiken itself was very bland. The server not only had to take care of tables but also a banquet.
A very unpleasant experience the last two visits.
There are much better Italian Resturants in the area.
