Location
If coming from I 84, Rte. 34, or Sandy Hook, Go about 1/4 mile past Blue Colony Diner, once you pass under the railroad trestle, immediately on your left. You will see the NVS sign out front. It is across from Burgeritaville & the comic book store. If coming from the flag pole, continue about 3/4 mile, you will pass Starbucks & once you see St. Rose's Church, it will be about 500 feet (same side as the church) on your right. If you pass under the train trestle you've gone too far.

Brought my dog here after a night of vomiting & diarrhea. She was dehydrated & needed an IV. They kept her 4 days. Should have taken her home after 2 but the tech said she was not keeping food down. In the first 2 days, they did two xrays & an ultrasound but nothing after that. As she is 15 1/2, I trusted their advice. They never came to any conclusion. Once I brought her home, I went back to her reg food & she was fine. I'm assuming it was just some sort of dog flu. $5000 spent. My biggest complaint would be the lack of communication. No one called me during the day with updates. When I called them, they were too busy to come to the phone. When I went to visit her, they were too busy to talk to me. Even when I picked her up, no Dr came to talk to me. Again I was told they were busy but would call me that evening to talk thru what they did and any conclusions. I never got a call.

The only reason it's 2 stars is because they were friendly and responsive day 1 & she did need the IV.

I don't know where to begin! I went to Newtown with my chihuahua who suddenly starting vomiting. I called my regular vet, but they were booked and couldn't see her until the next week so they sent me here. Everyone I spoke to, from the woman who answered the phone to the doctor were patient and caring. My baby ended up being in the hospital for 5 days, but is now home and doing great! I will say, the bill was much more than I had hoped compared to the prices at my vet, but she was cared for 24 hours a day by specialists so I expected it to be more. I even called in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep and the nurses would tell me how she was doing. Sorry to see the negative reviews...they were amazing to my little girl and I can't imagine taking her anywhere else when she's sick...I may need a loan to pay for it, but she's worth it!!!!

I recently brought my dog in f...

I recently brought my dog in for an emergency, she was having a problem breathing. It was a Saturday afternoon and the waiting area was busy. After a few minutes a person came out and quickly brought her to the back area. Shortly after a vet came out to talk with me. She was very nice and explained the problem. She required surgery, but not right away. The operation was done on Monday and was successful. She is home and doing fine. The people as NVS are top shelf, they treated me with compassion and took the time to explain everything that was being done. Thank you all!
