Snow Day #4: Climb Frozen Waterfalls

Ouray Ice Park
Ouray, CO - More Details
Home to an annual international ice festival for ice climbers, Ouray Ice Park (pictured above and below) is a unique attraction. Man-made ice flows created via a plumbing system (no, it's not just nature at work here) fall along the Uncompahgre Gorge, resulting in magnificent ice pillars that take on their own beauty -- even if you don't gear up to see them up close. Although the park does not offer guides, ice-climbing instruction, or rental equipment, you can find a number of outfitters nearby who do.
