Snow Day #10: Slip 'n' Slide - Snow Tubing

Hawksnest
Seven Devils, NC - More Details
Boasting one of the largest snow tubing parks in America (pictured above), Hawksnest takes snow play seriously, with each of their 20 snow tubing lanes lit for evenings and covered by snow-makers (if Mother Nature is lax on providing her own wintry stuff). Tubing sessions last one hour and 45 minutes each, and the tube lanes range from 400 feet to 1,000 feet in length. And, just like a ski resort, Hawksnest has a lift to whisk tubers back up the hilltop, to help you make the most tube runs as possible.

Smugglers' Notch
Smugglers' Notch, VT - More Details
Voted the number one ski resort for Family Programs by SKI Magazine readers for more than 10 years running, Smugglers' Notch is known for pleasing the kiddies. After the skiers have gotten their fills of swishes and sloloms, Smugglers' Notch lights up the snowy slopes in the evenings for three hours of tube sliding (lower picture), from 5-8pm. Head to the resort's Sir Henry's Hill and leave your skis behind.
