Mongoose Lemur Twins

Born: April 2012

All About Baby: One tiny half of a set of mongoose lemur twins peeks out from mama's snuggly fur. The babies were born to mother Rosalita and father Guillermo.

Who Knew? You can't tell mongoose lemur boys from girls until 6-8 months, when they develop distinguishing sex characteristics. Males change color and grow a red beard, while females grow a white beard and a darker face. Mongoose lemurs are also known for making oinking sounds like pigs.
