Jaguar Cubs

Born: April 26, 2012
Home: San Diego Zoo - Escondido, CA

All About Baby: Zookeepers were as joyous as parents Nindiri and Guapo to greet brother-sister jaguar cubs, the first jags to be born here in 30 years. The girl follows in Mom's feisty footsteps, while her brother takes after his more mild-mannered papa.

After hiding out in their cave area for a while, both cubs are now able to venture out into the grassy areas of their Elephant Odyssey den where they can climb and play.

Who Knew? Jaguar cubs are born blind and remain with their mothers for at least two years while learning to hunt.
