Lively Rooftop Gardens
In the age of recycling, repurposing and reclaiming, it was only time before architects decided to start using roofs for more than just elaborate satellite dish spaces. Witness this case study by Spore Architecture, who created a combination deck surface and "living" green roof system at this home in Seattle. For the living part, they used a pre-grown modular system with grown sedums, which are both attractive to the eye and possess evaporative cooling and storm water management qualities. 'Cause Seattle gets just a little of that.
