Jackon Square Baby Drop and Mississippi Fireworks
New Orleans, LA - Maps and Directions
New Orleans has always done things its own special way, and New Year's is no different. Ball drop? Tres ennui. Partygoers flood Jackson Square and rave 'til "Baby Bacchus," a giant toddler sporting the Saints' Fleur de Lis helmet (or in the case of New Year's 2012, the purple and gold "LSU Baby"), plunges from the roof of Jax Brewery. Magnificent fireworks then light up the Mississippi River. As is tradition in the French Quarter, crowds march down Bourbon Street and play till the wee hours.
