The Mobile MoonPie Drop
Downtown by the RSA-BankTrust Building
Mobile, AL - Maps and Directions
Alabama is sweet on New Year's Eve, dropping a 12-foot-tall moon pie from a 34-story building. Or what looks like a moon pie, anyway. Why MoonPie? The sugary rounds of goodness are a traditional treat thrown from floats during Mardi Gras parades in this port-side town. Naturally there will be a parade and lots of entertainment. As the cookie crumbles, lasers and fireworks help it along. The Commodores will be headlining the 2013 countdown celebration.
