Thinking Outside the Bowl (With Breakfast Cereals)

If there's one thing that recycling's taught us, it's that everything can live beyond it's original intention. Never has that been more clear with Kellogg's and General Mills breakfast cereals, which are popping up on menus in fun, feast-defying ways. Exhibit A: the Lucky Charms martini at Lola's in Los Angeles, a Sunday brunch all-star. And exhibit #2: a brioche-crusted French Toast with Frosted Flakes from Simon Restaurant and Lounge at Las Vegas' Palms Casino (lower picture). Suddenly, cereal with milk in a bowl seems so passe.
