B & L Automotive

I am in the Military and like many have traveled all over the country. During my time away from home I have always looked for Auto service from someone that treats me like my home town always has. I am now stationed at Fort Eustis and found B&L via word of mouth from another solider. I called and made an appointment for my Honda Accord which needed its 90,000 mile service and was scheduled for Wednesday which was fairly quick since it was only Friday afternoon when I called. I dropped my car off early on Wednesday morning and was very surprised at this locations clean waiting area and friendly staff. After a brief exchange of words I left my car for repairs and was told it would be ready around 4pm. Darin contacted me at around 3pm to let me know that everything was complete and that I could pick up my car anytime. Once I arrived, I was treated with respect and Darin even noticed my rank when he said my name. I was very impressed and felt very much as if I was at home again. He explained the services and also had some recommendations in regards to future services that I would need which he showed me a tray with my fluids. It was very helpful to see exactly what he was explaining, and then he took my payment and said thank you for your business. I am extremely happy with their service and their friendliness and have taken my car back for further service with a great experience every time! Tmy hey do close at lunch for an hour, but I can understand this as much as I like to have my lunch time also. I will continue to patronize B&L for my vehicle concerns and thank them for their hometown service.

I moved to Newport News in Sept. of 2009. Ispent several weeks looking for a automotive service center like the one I left behind in Florida. B&L was it! Clean facility and friendly, knowledgable staff. I couldn't ask for more. Every bit of work that B&L has performed on my vehicle has been done correctly THE FIRST TIME. No bring backs, no problems. Scott(the technician who has worked on my car) is exceptoional. He has made my car run the way it did when I first drove it off the dealers lot new. Darren (the service manager) is friendly and informative. Nothing is done before it is fully explained to the customer. They even work to find the most cost effective way to perform the needed repairs. If I ever move from this area I would travel back here just to have these guys maintain my vehicle.
By the way-one day while waiting for my vehicle to be repaired,the search for a particular part was proving difficult to find. Rather than making me sit hour upon hour the owner gave me a ride home. Now that's service. Stop looking Hampton Roads. This is THE place.

I moved here from Florida over 5 years ago. Shortly after arriving the bracket to my right headlight on my Trans AM broke (stuck in the pop-up position). Since I just arrived here I asked co-workers for a good mechanic to bring my car to. I went to who they recommended and received an initial estimate of $350 to replace the light then later was told the bracket is part of the frame and the whole front end would need to be replaced. That would have cost me thousands to fix. I went on a trip and told my wife to take my car in for an oil change. She took it to B&L and after the oil change Brad mentioned the light bracket being broken. My wife told Brad I needed to replace the whole front end. Brad said he could manufacture the part and he did it that day for $40 including labor. To this day 5 years later it works perfectly. I find B&L to be very honest, friendly, reasonably priced, and excellent mechanics. I’ve had nothing short of outstanding satisfaction with B&L. I do not allow anyone else to touch my car but B&L and now I live 15 miles (one way) from B&L but the drive is more than worth it. If B&L cannot fix it such as transmissions or body work they will recommend a place to take your car to (if you ask them).

Lets face it, we all live busy lives, and sometimes we go too long without saying thanks to those who we appreciate. I would just like to take a second to say thanks to B&L and Darin the service writer for always taking good care of me. Darin is always professional and explains things so that I can understand the problem or service that I need. I feel that B&L always has my best interest in hand and strives very hard to make me feel like family. I will continue to visit B&L and refer my friends and family for their auto service. Thanks again for always being a big help in such a stressful marketplace.

I just want to say, B & L Automotive is awesome and I'm a customer for life. Every car that I've owned, they have worked on. Including my parent's car and my brother's car. They are good peoples. Darin, Brad, and the team at B & L do great, honest work and always get the job done. Fixed my car many of times and I'm still traveling the highways. They just do great work, hands down. I tell everyone that when I get my car fixed, I always go to B & L Automotive in Newport News, VA. Other than buying tires, or getting my car painted, B & L is where my maintenance is taking place for my car (always). Thanks again Darin and B & L. Customer for life....

I will say this, I appreciate the top to bottom inspection they did, I like the fact that the work up was well done. As to what others have said, I'd say take the information they give and get the work done some place that is affordable (it's what I'm going to do.)

Use your best judgment and common sense to make an wise choice for your own car, re: worth shelling out the funds or buying another newer car.

Do your homework as an auto owner and get the parts yourself from the NAPPA webpage and get installed what you need done at another shop, you'll pay far less.

Oil change is what I got done, and a list of what needs attention come my next inspection that I will over the next few months

I'm not going to rant... I'm no fool around cars and this company seems to try to milk all repairs possible and even some not needed. The work is average and the rates are high. I would recommend finding another place to go.

Personnel working at B & L are dedicated professionals who took a personal interest in my problem. They were commited to completing the job satisfactorily and briefed me on the status of the repair i a timely manner. A job well done.

If you want great customer service and the job done right then bring your car to B&L Automotive you will not be disappointed. You can truly tell that they take pride in their work. Thank you so much for all your help.
