I went to "The Train Station" on Feb.12th to hear a jazz band and to have dinner, with a couple of friends. I must admit I, had a really nice time. I had heard that the place fulls up really quick, which was true, we got there around 6:50 and buy 7:15, the main dining room was full. The overflow had to go in the other room.. Our orders were taken after being seated for about 5 minutes, our food was served hot, and we had a good time, the entertainment was great, and the manager or someone from her staff, came by the table a couple of times, to see if we were all right. So my experience at the The Train Station was a good one, which I would gladly go again, when time permits.
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The servers are friendly and generally keep drink orders full. If an order gets messed up, the servers will take care of it. Of all our travels, we have found the Newport News Cracker Barrel to be the best - friendly and helpful servers as well as having good food. The people in the store section are willing to go out of their way to find merchandise. If they see you coming, they will open the doors. They are friendly and knowledgeable about the items the store section sells. Whether eating or shopping, Cracker Barrel is a great place to go.
Simply put, Rick's has the fattest and best subs and sandwiches I have had in a long time! Packed with more meat and fillings than you can bite around. My husband and I had to eat meat out of our subs before we could bite it. Needless to say we took half of each of our subs home for dinner that night. I have turned more people on to this place and will continue to do so. Jefferson Ave past Denbigh Blvd on the right. Small green building that you might miss if you blink too hard. Go in, you won't be disappointed!
