Dr. Aaron Montgomery is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in psychological assessment, testing and treatment of children, adolescents and young adults. He has extensive experience diagnosing and treating ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar and related disorders, trauma and stress related disorders, and disruptive, impulse-control and conduct disorders. As a child and adolescent specialist, Dr. Montgomery's work is informed by developmental psychology, family systems theory and contemporary cognitive-behavioral therapy research. In describing his work as a psychologist, Dr. Montgomery says, "I practice cognitive-behavioral therapy, which is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on evaluating and modifying thoughts as a strategy for changing the way we feel and behave. Additionally, as a child, adolescent and parenting specialist, my work also focuses on family relationships and patterns of communication--and how these can be modified to help parents be more effective. This in turn helps children and adolescents experience safety and support at home while developing healthy patterns and habits that will help them accomplish their goals in life. My ultimate goal with clients is to provide a safe and supportive treatment relationship that allows for meaningful self-exploration, problem solving, skill building and healthy psychological, behavioral and interpersonal development."
