Surprising Excellence, Great Value! My wife bought me a Gift Certificate during a Sale they had on Custom Men's suits around Father's Day. Since I only wear Zegna suits, I figured the Gift certificate would not be good enough for more than 1 suit. I was pleasantly surprised! This Tailor definitely isn't what you typically think of other Custom Clothiers. He was reasonably priced and the quality was quite superior (those who have been buying custom suits from other Hong Kong Tailors know what I mean). The turn around time was just 3 weeks and I had a friend's wedding coming up. So I wore my new custom suit and got a ton of compliments. I'm not sure what their regular rates for a single suit are, but splitting the total among 3 suits, I got a great deal. I now recommend this Custom Tailor to everyone! I suppose the one con is depending on what time of the day you go in there (they were extremely busy when I went) you might not get enough attention by the staff, but it never bothered me. I would definitely shop here again.
Vijay and his staff walked me through the entire process of being fitted for a custom made suit--the encounter was unforgettable! -The meticulousness with which these suits have been custom made is nothing short of artistically superb! The jackets, the pants, the vests, the shirts--all fit as if they were specifically made for no one in the world except me! The quality of the fabric alone makes a statement unto itself. This is the signature stitch of a proper suit with all of the details finely woven into each layer. Quite simply, I am a thoroughly satisfied customer! It's going to be rather difficult for me to return to anyone other than Custom Men for my suit-making. What Vijay has to offer is, unquestionably, a cut above the rest. In fact, Custom Men is the Savile Row experience of New York. If you're serious about going custom made, Vijay knows exactly what he's doing who knows how to work with you, your lifestyle, your budget and your personal taste.
I had a beautiful dress that I bought a few years ago on a whim but it was an awkward length so sadly I never had a chance to wear it. My friend had an idea to not only shorten the length but to create a more bubble/tulip hem shape to update it but I was afraid it would end up as an experiment gone awry and/or be prohibitively expensive. Enter Mari and Jean Tailoring. My friend has been going to them for years and when I told them our ideas, the wonderful ladies were able to alter the dress for a good price and within a reasonable time frame. I completely love the "new" dress and got tons of compliments when I wore it to a friend's wedding. They also altered another dress for me and I can't wait for warmer weather to come back so I can actually wear it. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a tailor you can trust.
