My dad had given me his Ulysse Nardin watch, which he had received as a high school graduation present from my grandparents. The watch had a high dome crystal, which was always loose. The crystal fell off and although I tried to have it repaired, they used the wrong type of crystal which wound up smushing the hands of the watch. As the watch was in complete disrepair, I brought it over to Tourneau, as an authorized dealer for Ulysse Nardin. Tourneau looked it over and advised me that they needed to ship it back to the manufacturer in Switzerland. I paid $75 to ship the watch to Switzerland. Four months later, I get an email from Tourneau advising that the watch can be fixed for an estimated cost of $3500. I do not authorize the repairs, which are much more than the watch is valued (not counting sentimental value) and have them send me back the watch. Unbelievably it takes another 4 weeks before I get my watch back. After reading all the incredibly positive stories about Star Watch Service, I decide to give them a shot. I drop the watch off with Boris and he calls me 2 days later to tell me that he thinks he can fix it. He needs to do a further inspection and locate an appropriate sized crystal. Another 2 days later and he calls to say it can be fixed for $50. When I pick it up the next day, it is in amazing condition (it has never been this clean) and works just like I remembered (actually much better). All I can say is - Boris is the best!
It was always a hassle to find a dependable watchmaker when one of the many timepieces in my vintage watch collection had a problem. Ever since my first visit to Manhattan Time Services, however, I've been treated like a valued customer and always experience first rate customer service.
I was very satisfied with how my husband’s watch turned out. He loved the new band, and the price was very good. I will be sending you another one of his watches next week. I tell everyone to ship their watches to Manhattan Time Services for excellent repairs.
