King Tut is Awesome

I loved the King Tut exhibit at the Discovery Exposition. There were so many artifacts to see, I was blown away by the details on them given that they are over 3,000 years old. This was a very personal exhibit, and it told a story as it progressed. The first few rooms were a...morertifacts from life in ancient Egypt in general, moving on to rooms filled with artifacts from pharaohs and King Tut’s relatives, and finally to the Boy King’s artifacts. This was a brilliant way to display to artifacts, and allowed me to immerse myself in ancient Egypt. After I finished looking at the artifacts, I caught the mummies 3d movie. This was a great way to end my visit to the exhibit, and the movie was awesome. On my way out, I hit the King Tut gift shop, which had so much fun stuff in it. There was also a Discovery Channel gift shop there as well, which had a wide variety of fun things if you felt Tut-ed out. I would absolutely recommend this exhibit to anyone and everyone. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these artifacts, and the Discovery Center really made it come alive. view less

Surprisingly very good!

First I gotta say I was never really a fan of walking tours. I always preferred the free spirited nature of just taking a map and exploring by yourself. This tour, however, changed my mind quite a bit. During my short stay in NYC, I accompanied my friends to explore the down...moretown areas, namely the soho east village parts. We found about the Visitors Center, and went on a total of two tours, (at first, reluctantly,) The East Village History tour, and the Gangster, Murderers & Weirdos tour. I was thoroughly surprised by the information provided during the tour, and I gotta say it was very interesting. The guide, Eric, brought pictures of how the building looked in the past, and so we had the chance to see side by side of the past and present. What was a mafia hideout of yesterday was now...a coffeeshop. Pretty weird twists and turns in the neighborhood. Overall, I really recommend visiting here and taking a tour. You will not be dissapointed. Btw, here's the website. eastvillagevisitorscenter.com/view less

TUT NYC is a MUST SEE!

This exhibit was well worth the price. The artifacts were amazing, and so was the Mummy! Who cares if it’s not King Tut’s real Mummy, it was still really cool. Who would ever think something that fragile and old would ever be taken out of Egypt? I purchased the audio guid...moree, which deeply furthered my knowledge and understanding on King Tut and ancient Egypt in general. The layout of the 10 galleries was outstanding, and the artifacts were displayed flawlessly. A short quote or excerpt introduced each room to the viewer, providing a background on what I was about to see. All in all, the exhibit was an amazing value, and I am definitely going back to see King Tut’s chariot which is expected from Egypt any day now. This is the first time the chariot has ever left Egypt! This is the LAST time any of these items will ever be on display in the United States, so I highly recommend seeing them before they return to Egypt forever in January. view less
