I went to Xena's on the recommendation of a friend. Since August, I've had my haircut and colored by Julie. Julie did a wonderful job, listened to my concerns and gave me a great hair cut. It has grown in so nicely and is versatile that I can let it air dry and it still loves great. The hair cut will set you back $80 but well worth. The hair color was also great. I will definitely return. The entire staff is also friendly and professional.

I started going to Xena's almost a year and a half ago after i saw few of their haircuts in ""Short Hair"" magazine. I was really impressed with work my hairstylist, Darlene, did. She took in consideration not only my wishes but also ""character"" (which is not easy one) of my hair. I am impressed with her work everytime i go there. Actually, every customer, that i see there, leaves the salon with a big smile. I strongly recommend it!

Ask for JENNA! She is AMAZING at hair and makeup. She is without a doubt the BEST priced hairdresser in all of Manhattan and there is no way that she will stay at this cheap for long. I got my hair cut, had a treatment, colored and dried all for under $160. Everyone in the salon is lovely, but seriously I have had my hair cut in London, Paris, Italy, Australia and New York and NO ONE comes close. She is brilliant. She LISTENS so carefully to what you say you want when so many stylists just do what they think is best. Outstanding! I couldn't recommend her more highly.

If your looking for a super hair cut and hair color...... and people that care about you as a customer.....then....... this is the place for you................ .I'm glad I did.... .I came here from NJ after reading Citysearch reviews. Its located about a block from the PATH train station. I called to make an appt and stylist Julie was recommended to me. Absolutely wonderful experience, to say the least!! I was welcomed by staff that was unpretentious, very friendly and warm. Every one of these ladies is happy, attentive, and talented. They all care, and boy.... do they have great hair cuts!! and now I have a great hair cut too !! The atmosphere here is warm and relaxing, like being at home with friends having coffee or tea. Julie (one of the senior stylists) came over first to look at my hair, and talk about my hair needs and wants....then she expertly and beautifully cut and colored it.... from a few pictures I brought in, we selected a cut I liked (made mistake = not Penelope Cruz) (its Katie Holmes hair cut) . Thank you Julie !! These hairstylists are gifted for sure !! I came in with a nothing hair style and color and went out looking like a model. Cut, style, highlights, base color cost $280. and well worth it for my first time and considering the condition my hair was before I came here. Upon leaving, a little gift bag was given to me, which I thought was a very nice personal touch. I will be a regular customer, and...... I highly recommend this salon !! Thanks to all at Xena's for making my stay terrific!!! 5 stars to you....

I had my hair cut at Xena's for the first time last week and I'm so incredibly happy I did. Not only did the stylist (Darlene) really take the time to understand what I wanted and to give me her opinion of what would and wouldn't work with my face shape and hair texture -- she did an AMAZING job with the cut. In the past week I've had so many compliments on my hair (sometimes again and again from the same people). I've honestly never been this satisfied with a haircut before. I feel like a new woman.\r Additionally: the staff were very warm and professional, the salon was cozy and clean, and the cost of the cut was entirely reasonable. I can't recommend this place enough.

I went to Xena's yesterday--after scouting a few salons, I liked their atmosphere the best. I figured I'd take a chance on somewhere new--and THANK GOD I did! I am INFINITELY pleased with my new haircut--I went to Darlene, who was recommended by the receptionist, and she was amazing. I had a few pictures and ideas but not anything too specific, and as stupid as this sounds, she totally understood my ""vision"" and that I was scared to end up with ""mom hair."" She cut my hair dry and followed with the shampoo/massage, blow-drying and flat-ironing, then a little shaping at the end. I LOVED it. I wanted to show everyone I possibly could! The staff is warm and friendly, they treat you with so much care, and there's a little gift bag at the end--AND IT ONLY COST $52! I was amazed and you will be too!

I have been going to Helena for years now and she cuts my hair perfectly, so much so that it grows out well. Xena's is a wonderful, low-key gem of a salon with reasonable prices and consistently great value per strand o hair.

I rarely have a good experience at salons. I always end up going home and adjusting the do. The only two experiences I've had that were positive were at Xena's and I am officially going to make myself a Xena regular. They know how to cut hair (without cutting off all your hair). They know how to cut and treat curly hair (instead of making you look like a wild lion or an electrified crazy lady). They know how to treat you (coffee, tea, water, attention, smiles, thank you notes mailed afterwards, gift bags, etc..). They are great. I highly recommend!!!!!

This quaint little salon is perfect... I was recommended by a friend to see Megan since I was having a hard time finding a decent haircut for an affordable price. She was only a few months in as a hairstylist, but as an Aveda grad she did an incredible job, and only for $50! Everyone was so friendly and the environment was comfortable and casual-chic, none of the snotty city types of other places. Xena, the owner, apparently has had this place open for 15 years and trains the stylists personally as assistants for a while, even sending them to classes and stuff. Now THAT'S a professional salon that trains their people!! YEAH, so maybe I'm a little too nosy, but I obviously go back and can't help being friendly with these great people!!! Highly recommended!!

A friend of mine recommended Xena's to me. I was a little nervous about going to a new place, because you never know...but I tried them. I saw Darlene. She did an incredible job on my hair, with only my verbal description of what I did and didn't want to go on. I am so happy with the results! And the price is amazing. $45 for a haircut that looks better than the one I've been paying 3x as much for. I will definitely be back.

This place really is a hidden gem! It is small, cozy, cute and you are treated like a star. I had highlights (2 colors) and it turned out beautifully! Not to mention that it only cost me $125!!!! The price will vary based upon your hair and what you are getting, but this place is amazing! When I left they gave me a goody-bag with a free brush, color lasting shampoo and some shine enhancer. One week later I got a thank you post card and a follow up phone call...with this level of service, it makes me wonder if this is really NYC???

This salon is a little hidden gem. The atmosphere is very relaxing and if you allow yourself to, it feels like you are in the comfort of your own home (if your home had a hair salon). And I highly suggest taking advantage of the training nights. Great staff!
