Washington Deluxe Bus Service

I was on a bus on Sunday March 25th returning from NY to DC that was supposed to leave at 9pm. It was 9:45 and the bus was not leaving, apparently the driver had travelled with his 13yr old son and he had gone missing. The police got involved and at 9:55 the driver said the bus was not leaving without his son, we asked if we should get off the bus and find other transportation and he said yes. So, we did try to find another way back to DC, but all 3 buses leaving after 10pm were full. Since staying in NY was not an option, we had to take the train back. Now the company is not refunding my train ticket saying "I chose" to get off the bus and take the train, and that the bus did in fact leave NY. I find this unacceptable since I waited 55min for the bus to leave and then I was told the bus was not leaving that I should find other transportation. I reached out to the company that same Sunday through phone and email and heard no response. I called on Monday twice and was informed I had to speak to the manager, and she was not available, so I was instructed to send an e-mail. I did, and I called on Wednesday since I had not had a formal written response and I was told I would not get a formal written response, and that I will not be getting a refund. I asked again to speak to the manager and she, again, was not available. this is also unacceptable. I cannot be held responsible for the company's employee irresponsible behavior. I waited for the bus, was told to leave and now they won't refund my expenses and not take responsibility on their employee’s actions.
