Almost like family at this point

I have been taking my cats to Tribeca Soho from just about the time they opened in a small walkup around the corner in a building that has since been torn down and replaced by an upscale restaurant. I also used to live just three blocks away but several years ago I moved far uptown and I STILL use them as my vet, I simply stick a cat into a carrier, sling it over my shoulder and hop onto the train.\n\nI have many cats and specialise in geriatric/special needs Persians and so my veterinary needs run the gamut from a quick check up to spaying/neutering to serious surgery and it includes palliative care. I have always found the vets to be first class. I gravitate to Dr. Koprowski as she and I share similar personality traits but feel comfortable with whomever is on duty should it be a crisis. The techs are first class, the nurses as well, the place is clean as can be and the front desk is pleasant and efficient. There seems to be lower than average turnover (apart the regrettable loss of the redoubtable Sharon at the gate) and I like consistency in medical care. They are able to do much of the testing in house so you don't have to wait forever for results and an ultra-sound person comes in twice a week so you don't have to schlepp to other facilities except for really specialised tests.\n\nThose reviewers who are wincing at the cost--I feel your pain. You have no idea. But I don't think they are any more expensive than equal calibre vets and I don't trust my animals anywhere else.\nEdit Remove Send To A Friend Link to this Review

Great staff

We had a went here with our puppy for the first time, we waited a few minutes while my mom filled out paperwork and then were seen. My puppy was not eating enough so she recommended to switch her suggestion of food. My baby was a member of the empty plate club tonight! We were seen by dr. Lee, she was fantastic and answered our endless stream of questions! She put us on some vacines and gave us very good advice . The lady at the front desk helped us decide on a name for our baby girl (Lola)We are going to spray our puppy here instead of the original destination, because she is a little afraid and we were impressed by the way they handled our baby girl.

Best Vet!

Dr. Martel is the best vet I've ever had, and I've had animals my whole life. He is an excellent diagnostician, very caring and sensitive to the animal, and great at communicating to the pet owner what is going on. I was lucky to find him. My cat lived to be 20 years of age. I am sure Dr. Martel's excellent care had alot to do with that. Before I found him, we had taken our cat to several New York city vets, none of them compare. I highly recommend him. Your pet is in good hands with Dr. Martel!

Do your homework.

Be careful. Ask around the neighborhood if there have been incidents there; we found many including the death of a young pet under their care.

wonderful animal hospital

We've been seeing Dr. Yoshida for our pets for several years and we love her! She is very gentle and sweet, and a wonderful vet. She removed a tumor from our dog recently and we can't even find the scar! Some of our friends see her too, and they all love her! We love the staff too. They are all very nice, but Jenny and Peter are our favorite. It is a bit pricey, but we highly recommend this hospital.

Caring, Knowledgeable Docs

I've been taking our kitties to this vet group since about 2003 and have always found the doctors to be caring and knowledgeable. When I first went there, our two beloved old cats were reaching the end of their very long lives and had all kinds of health issues. The Tribeca SoHo docs helped them to be more comfortable in those final years, and when the end came for both (ages 17 and 20, respectively), they could not have shown more compassion. There was nothing ""routine"" about their treatment of us or our cats. Now we have two young kitties, and they helped both through some early digestive problems. Although we now live in Brooklyn, I'm finding it hard to switch vets because of the level of trust I've built up with Tribeca SoHo Animal Hospital.\n\nCaveats: 1. It's often very busy in the waiting room, and you might be cooling your heels for a while. 2. Fees are on the high side, but that's probably true throughout the metro area. 3. On rare occasions the front-desk staff has been a bit brusque with me and not entirely accommodating. But I'd still recommend this vet group to anyone.

Thought you should know

The Tribeca/Soho Animal Hospital by far will provide you with great service for your pet. They will run ever test imaginable and charge you accordingly. I am sure they even screened my dog for the ebola virus. Most of the time they will perform and take bloodtests and treat you like an inhumane owner/parent if you don't follow up on every quiver your animal makes while in the office. As a dog owner for over 8 years I have found them to be more of alarmists. Maybe I just saw the wrong doctor at the wrong time. Maybe they are just a young crew and do not have enough years under their belts. What they lack is common sense and if you know that going into the visit and have them be specific about every thing they charge you BEFORE they do it, then you should have a lovely experience.

Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital is a great place to bring your pet to.

I've been coming to Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital for last five years and I haven?t really had a bad experience there besides occasional long wait for the visit. Dr. Martel had been my doctor for a while and after he left I started seeing dr. Lee. Both doctors were always very pleasant and professional and I can?t say anything bad about them. I was very sad to loose dr. Martel as Sandy?s vet, but dr. Lee happened to be as great. I love most of the staff I dealt with, they always seam very compassionate and carrying. \nI would definitely recommend the hospital to anyone. \n

Great Vet

We have been taking our puppy to Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital since the first week we had him, and they have done a fabulous job. We have seen almost all of the veterinarians there, and they are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. They are very reliable and always follow up.
