Hi ... I was very nervous about doing this (Lips & Botox). I didn't know anyone to ask about where to go. I found SmoothMed online & the experience exceeded my expectations. I've been twice. Dr. Berdy is a good doctor & a nice guy. He was helpful & intuitive. I have a BA and work for a Law firm ... you'll be in good hands here! : )

Beyond my highest expectations

I found myself int he position of coming into a little extra money and having a few days off from work. I wanted to get some mouth/chin lines done, as well as some lip plumping. It had been a few years since I had done this with a plastic surgeon and the work needed to be refreshed. My doctor was completely booked up. With great trepidation I made an appt with Smothmed after reading a newspaper article about them. Although I noted that they had very good reviews, you never know if these reviews are made up etc.. I could not be more thrilled with the results. Dr. Berdy gave me a very good price for the amount of work he did, and the results are outstanding, with far better results than I had ever gotten from my plastic surgeon, yet totally natural looking. Am very grateful to Dr. Berdy and Smoothmed!

Botox and Juvederm at Smoothmed

I just had to give kudos to Dr. Berdy and Smoothmed. I was really afraid to get Botox or a filler, primarily because I bruise so easily that it takes weeks of down time. To my great relief and delight, I had not one bruise!!! Dr. Berdy used ice before and after each injection and I didn't have to ""hide out"" even one day! Thank you so much Smoothmed. Painless too.

A close family member who is an excellent doctor suggested that I try Smoothmed because he knew Dr. Berdy was a superb doctor. I have been going to him for various treatments for more than a year. Everyone can't believe my age and can't believe that I am the grandmother of a teenager.Recently, I met a great man and we just married. I believe G-d sent Dr. Berdy to help me find my soul mate.\r I have never had any problem with any of the treatments that Dr. Berdy gave me. In fact there were times I asked for a specific treatment and he responded that I did not need it.He could have earned money but he chose to be honest and to be a professional. I have always been totally happy with his work and with his staff.\r I left a dermotologist who trained at Harverd for Dr. Berdy. He is a lot better than that doctor.

Great Experience, but what's with the $50 fee??

Love the convenience, the ambiance, the assistant and the doctor, but that $50 base fee always feels like an insult. I would understand it, if I went in for a few units, but when I spend $700 and more, I think it should be waived.

Cant even begin to explain my amazing experience with SmoothMed. It is the only walk in clinic that I know about and it is simply awesome. The receptionist was super friendly and cute and the doctor did an awesome job on my lips. The prices are reasonable and I will probably only go here from now on, that is to redo my lips or maybe do botox or lazer treatments eventually. I suggest for anyone doing their lips to get the juvederm because my lips look AMAZING and it lasts a lot longer then the other brand that they have - up to about 7 months, could be longer.

Let me tell you, women:\r \r I've received Botox and Juvederm from some of the best doctors in San Francisco and LA for the past 3 years. Last week I visited Dr. Berdy and can honestly say that this was my favorite Botox/Juvederm experience to date. \r \r I have very fair skin and often suffered from (very UN-beautiful and embarassing) bruising that lasted for 7-10 days after my injections. \r \r I explained this to Dr. Berdy and he listened attentively to me. In response, I could tell by his un-rushed, gentle yet professional way of injecting the Botox and Juvederm into my face that he was being extremely focused upon bruise-prevention, and consequently I experienced ZERO bruising at Dr. Berdy's hands.\r \r I recommend this skilled doctor and lovely human being to any woman. \r \r And, let me just add that I am receiving absolutely no renumeration from SmoothMED or Dr. Berdy for writing this review- in fact, I seldom write on-line reviews. \r \r My reason for taking the time to write this review is simple: \r \r I am a hardworking woman who makes a very, VERY modest living as a writer, and I literally save for 3 months to afford my Botox treatments. Best lip injections too!

I've been getting botox & lip injections for years & have tried 5 other doctors in NYC (mainly dermatologists) & this place is the best by far. I've strayed only when looking for cheaper prices, but it was never worth it! I've always had to go back to these guys to fix problems caused by these other doctors- which, of course, cost MUCH more in the long run. \r For anyone looking for lip injections specifically- you have GOT to get it done by someone who specializes in lip injections! The problem is that any Dr. is willing to do it, & tout themselves as an expert, whether they know how or have experience or not! \r At smoothmed, Dr. Berdy actually listens to you & sculpts your lips to your particular taste, (he doesn't just give you some generic trouty clown look like other Dr.s do because it's the only one they know). He gives you a mirror so you can look & see & offer feedback . IMO- this is the sign of an expert. The last dermnatologist who screwed up my lips actually said to me after refusing to vitrase it ""I like it, if I were another Dr looking at you I'd think it was a good job."" Really? Is that what you're goal is? So it's not about me looking how I want to look, or getting the look I PAID for? Your goal is for YOU to think you did a good job? The whole point was to plump but w/ a natural look- so it wouldn't be obvious I even had a 'lip job.' Ugh- if you could only see my lower lip- I had to walk around looking like a CLOWN for 2 weeks! Bottom line, this is your face, you have to wear it & be comfortable w/ it, so my advice is go to an expert who specializes & understands that your feelings about your appearance matter; because they are the reason you're there (paying them) in the first place! \r

Best Botox in NYC!

I decided to give my first go at Prevelle during Spa Week in NYC. I came to SmoothMED after a lot of research and consideration and I am so glad I did! It was the best experience I could imagine!! Walking into the door you get a sense of security right away. The office feels clean and the staff was so nice and professional. I knew I was in good hands. I have always been really self conscious of my lips, as they are extremely small. Dr. Berdy was so nice from the start and made me feel so comfortable. He did not point out my flaws, but yet let me explain where and why I felt I needed Prevelle. The process was so fast and painless. The assistant put numbing cream on my lips and the actual injections did not hurt at all. The assistant was more than helpful and accommodating and Dr. Berdy was gentle, yet really efficient. 4 days later, I love my lips and have lost any self- consciousness I ever had! I would recommend anyone giving botox even the slightest consideration to come here!!

I read all the reviews on this site before coming. All the reviews really helped me with my decision, so I thought I'd write my experience to help others. My first botox experience was a bust - I went to a glitzy chain med spa store in the mall (located in the suburbs outside of Boston). I won't say exactly where - but you can ask me personally if you want. The girl that did my botox wasn't even a doc - she was a P.A. (physician's assistant?). She gave me many injections to get rid of the double lines between my eyebrows. After 2 weeks, nothing happened, so I went back for more. I got a total of 22 units of botox. By the way, the botox she used on me smelled really strange! Like sour chemicals - anyone ever experience this? I got some wrinkle relief for a few weeks, then it wore off! I didn't even know it was possible. Anyone have an explanation? Anyways, I went to Dr. Berdy a very skeptical person. I told him my previous botox experience and how the right side was lopsided. He said I needed 24 units and he would do his best. I got my botox on Friday evening (I did a walk in) and today is Monday night. My furrowing muscles are already 80% paralyzed. There is no lopsidedness and I do not need to go back for a touch-up. Dr. Berdy injected me in, I would say only 5 spots and some of the locations he injected me were different than the previous lady. His botox also did not smell like some weird sour putrid chemical. I bled much less than the first botox and the swelling was much less also. Conclusion: This is a great price and the doc has skills. I have not found a better price here in Boston for botox performed by a real doc. The next time I make a trip to NYC, I'll be seeing Dr. Berdy again. I'll be sending my friends his way too. I'm definitely never going back to a chain med spa ever again. I was stupid, forgive me.

i will admit i laughed at the guy who asked for ID (and was at best HALF my age) on that sun morning when i was buying groceries for the week and ONE bottle of wine!!! but it's still my fav story to tell!!! plus it's all i need to say about the results from my visit - i think it was my second!!! to top it off, i'm afraid of needles, so they gave me numbing cream and the dr was very patient - i didn't even flinch! have sent many friends - all loved it! go, go, go!!!

I've been to spas in other parts of the country and this was the most positive experience I had. Dr. Berdy had the lightest touch (least amount of pain) with injections. Very friendly staff. Relatively competitive pricing. Many spas around the city charge ""per area"". This is bogus. I've never heard of this before. It's unfair to the patient. Smoothmed charges per unit. You get what you pay for. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

I came to Smoothmed a little nervous since I have never had Botox before. I saw Dr. Berdy for my treament. I had my consultation with him and what I enjoyed most was that he asked me ""what bothers you?"". He didn't tell me what he thought I needed to have done by just looking at me. He let me express what bothered me and then told me the treatment that would be appropriate. I recieved Botox in my forehead and I'm super happy with the results. I expressed to him that I wanted it to look natural and still have movement in my eyebrows and that is exactly what he did for me. The injections were painless! I asked at the end ""that's it?"" I was done in 2 minutes pain free! Overall I enjoyed my experience at Smoothmed and recommend it to anyone interested in having Botox and has a busy schedule!

They are siply the best. Before Smootmed I had a botox done in one of the most popular and expensive clinigue in NY, but doctor in Smootmed did his job much better. The result was simply much better. And atmopshere in Smootmed...everything is like you have a feeling you are in the spa!:-) \r Honestly, you can not find such a good doctor as he is in Smootmed, nowhere. \r Thank you Smootmed making me happy and beautiful:-)

Felt I needed to tell everyone about this place. I'm heading to a big reunion soon and wanted to look rested. (Botox on the forehead can take away that stressed look like nothing else can.)\r \r You can walk in without an appointment. At most, it's a thirty minute wait. The doctors are real MDs. Dr. Berdy was my doctor and performed a truthful detailed facial exam. \r \r They try to perform the treatment with the least amount of medicine needed. If you don't need a treatment, they will tell you so. Dr. Berdy even mentioned that I may need a bit more medicine, but suggested waiting a bit so I don't need to spend more money.\r \r One important tip I can offer is to check their website and twitter for specials. The specials and twitter daily deals are not posted in the office, only the standard treatment rates. But even then, the doctor was happy to adjust my bill to match the website special a week after treatment -- clearly good business practice.\r \r I hope they stay around a long time and even expand into other medical facial treatments, like those for acne, scars, and spider veins.\r
