I had heard about this bar from a friend who had been on a Friday night , she had a great time and apparently fell in love with the bartender!
She convinced me to go back with her, and I was not disappointed. The service was great, the atmosphere was great and the bartender Nile was in fact very attractive(which always helps!). We did not have food there but it looked good and many seemed to be eating which is always a good sign.
The one fault I had was the music, at the start it was way too slow for a Friday night, but eventually it picked up.
All in All....very fun night!

Bartender got an attitude when we tipped $15 on a $130 tab?????
I paid on a credit card and after I left, the bartender doubled my tip!!!
We were the only people in the bar at 11pm on a saturday night, so he should have been happy that we were in there and spend $150.
DO NOT USE A CREDIT CARD TO PAY YOUR TAB AT THIS PLACE - THEY WILL PROBABLY STEAL MONEY FROM YOU TOO!!!

The quiet backroom was a nice find. But the waitress was hostile. We could not get her to serve us... She was only interested in larger groups. Finally, we had to write our order on a separate piece of paper and march it over to the waitress in the other room. Larger groups that came later were at their deserts before our appetizers arrived. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers.

As a native New Yorker, it's hard to find a place to go (especially on a Thursday or Friday) to have a quiet drink and catch up with a friend. This is that place-- where the bartenders are friendly, the drinks are cheap, and you can usually get a seat. If only there were more places like it.

Small-town friends visiting? Sure, they'll want to be overwhelmed by Times Square and intimidated by chi-chi restaurants--that's part of the deal. But if you want to kick back and catch up, try Shades of Green. Nice bartenders, sports on TV and an unpretentious after-work crowd tends to please out-of-their-element hometown friends and family who've spent the rest of their visit pretending to enjoy your favorite squid-ink pasta and $15 apple martinis.
