My friend and I stopped here after a matinee show. There were very few choices- I was really disappointed in the selection. The options sounded pretty good overall- crab cakes, steak, chicken, salmon, a few salads...but nothing jumped out at me. Nothing really seemed like a complete meal. In each description I read it seemed something was missing. I finally decided on the chicken special and was told they were out. I... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch

For what it is, I am a fan. Come to Sardi's for the ambiance and all the caricatures of the stars and celebrities on the walls. Don't come to Sardi's expecting a bleeding-edge amazing culinary experience. Come to enjoy the history of the place and soak up the fact that so many Broadway stars have graced these hallowed rooms.
That said, here's the round-up: we started with the endive, grape and blue cheese sala... view more
Great location if you're attending a show on Broadway -- this place is in the heart of the Theatre District. \r
Sardi's is a legend. It has been serving the theatre crowd since 1921. Walls are lined with caricatures of actors and actresses. Top Notch wait staff at your beck and call. \r

There is no better place for pre-theater dinner! I always take friends/relatives from out of town and Friday was no exception. Steak tartar prepared tableside to order, fabulous pasta and chops, delicious desserts - try the Tahitian vanilla creme brulee! Service is friendly and flexible to your needs. To those who complain of the price - its New York, get over it! You can easily dine for $50 per person on the fi... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
This is truly a New York landmark. I was in the city from out of town and went to see a show. We had dinner at Sardi's afterwards - as other reviews have said, it's ""the thing to do."" Despite what some other reviewers have said, I didn't find the prices unreasonable at all. The food is outstanding (I had an amazing Caesar's salad and possibly the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten) and the service is first-cla... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
Where to go for a drink after a Broadway show on a Saturday night? Why Sardi's of course. I was surprised to walk into the little downstairs bar to find only seven people in the historic drinking spot -- five at the bar, a couple tucked into one of the shelf tables. Though I was expecting a crush of theater-goers ,I quickly realized that there is comfort in small numbers -- especially when Bartender Jose is on d... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
We had a wonderful dining experience! The entire staff, from coat check to our very pleasant waiter, made this an unforgettable experience. Sardi's was recommended by a close friend and long time patron, and I am so glad we chose to take his advise.
Our meal was delicious. The soup (shrimp) was an and excellent appetizer and the bread selection made it very difficult to make a choice, they all looked so good. (I... view more
