After ordering a round of margaritas I noticed an absurdly creepy hispanic man staring at me from the bar. After AN HOUR he continued to do so (and another round) he continued to do so while my boyfriend was ordering 2 more margaritas during their happy hour. This same man continued to stare at me, wink, and make SICK TONGUE GESTURES AT ME. While my boyfriend stood 5 feet away and walked towards me to hand me my margarita he said ""you see something you like over there???"" and questioned him about his inappropriate gestures. The disturbing man making disgusting gestures replied that he was a friend of the man who worked there. The cashier proceded to give the money back to my boyfriend for the margaritas he had ordered and KICK US OUT because the man making cunninlingus gestures was his friend. This place will make me have nightmares. AVOID IF YOU ARE A GIRL AND DON'T WANT TO BE HARASSED.

The great thing about this place is that they are always open late, and will deliver as late as 4 am... The Queso Loco and Guaco Loco are cheap and yummy, the quesadillas were also big and satisfying. Food was relatively cheap and arrived warm upon delivery, which only took about 25 min. I will definitely reorder again in the future!

In the East Village, there is no shortage of great places to eat (according to the ""locals,"" there's pretty much no shortage of anything awesome in the neighborhood, but that's a whole other bag of hipsters). San Loco, a multi-location Mexican cocina that specializes in freshness (""makin'it from scratch since 1986"") and alcoholic beverages (a welcome addition to any fast food place), holds up as another fine food stop among many. On the recommendation of an esteemed denizen of the great walled city of the East Village and San Loco regular, I ordered the Queso Loco (with beef) and the Guaco Loco (with chicken) tacos. These double-shelled wonders (hard AND soft; I suppose that's what makes then so ""crazy"") are delicious and although the ground beef was somewhat under-seasoned, the chicken more than picked up the slack (way to go, chicken). That whole freshness claim they make in their backstory holds true; all the veggies were good and the tortillas tasted like I imagine they would down in the real San Loco (wherever the Hell that is). I would recommend the queso and the guaco tacos equally and if you are able to whack down a couple of margaritas while you're at it, you've got yourself a good time (I had a Fanta that was pretty tasty, but not nearly boozy enough). Overall, I give San Loco 3 out of 4 sticks of butter and bonus points for being a.) open late (5:00am from Thursday to Saturday), b.) ideal post-drinking filler / hangover killer, and c.) cool enough to serve cerveza, margaritas, and sangria.

So I went to San Loco yesterday for a quick cheap dinner to find that they have redecorated. To my dismay I found that they are paying for the redecorations by upping their prices... It seems everything went up by about $1.50. The good side is they now offer beer, but I'd rather bring cheap tacos with me to a bar than pay the prices they charge now. Very disappointed.

Before going out, after going out, sitting on the couch, or taking it to go, San Loco is fantastic, quick Mexican food. Nothing beats a chipotle chicken queso loco. I'll take 2, with a side of serious sauce.

I've eaten here fairly consistently since the late 80's. It has remained relatively unchanged since - great tasting and inexpensive and open really late. I wish they still had beer though.

MY FRIENDS AND I HAVE BEEN DEVOUT FANS OF THIS PLACE FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. IN THE OLD DAYS YOU COULD GET YOURSELF SOME GREAT FOOD AND EVEN BEER ARE VERY RESONABLE PRICES. OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS SOMETHING HAS CHANGED. THE FOOD HAS BECOME INEDIBLE , THE DELIVERY HAS BECOME AWFULLY SLOW AND THE PRICES HAVE GONE HIGH. MY ADVICE!!... STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THE FOOD UNTIL THEY GET BACK TO THE OLD DAYS!!

It's simple, it's cheap, and it's oh so good. Definitely the best canned cheese in the city. That may not sound like much, but San Loco is better than Mexican restaurants that cost 5 times as much. The nachos blow away any Heartland / TGIF concoctions. Five bucks will get you fed right.
