Stopped in for dinner after a long day of shopping. Food was extremely disappointing. The buffalo chicken sandwich seemed to be something other than chicken, and the chicken pot-pie was comparable to dog food. Left quite hungry and made a stop at Ciao Bella.

I am a long time fan and customer of the original PJ Clarkes' on Third Avenue - this one is a sad ghost of its predecessor. I have no complaints about the quaity of the food - but the skimpy way the food is presented (imagine serving a cheeseburger without any lettuce, tomoto or a pickle!) leaves much to be desired. I guess the Wall Streeters who frequent this spot are not as into ""getting down"" into their burgers, but then again, at least a good quality of beef is served here. We should all thank God that at least soy burgers have not yet made it to the menu, but it would be a better place if it were a bit more ""pub"" and a lot less yuppie. This place has no character - it's no different than any other upscale faux pub in NY!

Went here for dinner prior to ballet at Lincoln Center. Food is truly terrible, and not that cheap for the quality. Crab cakes (average), filet of sole (sauce was gross maple syrup!!), mussels (sandy, below average)-white wine butter sauce was good tho; house pinot grigio -below average.
It does have a great view though and is convenient to Lincoln Center. The bar was crowded with 30s-50s year olds, nice looking crowd. Our waitress was from Ireland and extremely nice.

It's been almost 2 years since the last time I was here, but I think about this place and salivate about the burgers. Initially I was turned off by the overpriced menu, but after hitting other burger places in the city and this one has a soft spot in my heart. I think the bun is the clincher.

From the minute we walked in until the moment we left we were attended to. Everyone was friendly and their friendly demeanor did not appear forced. Good selection of beer and a decent assortment of wines. Nice happy hour specials. Oysters were fresh.
The two bars at each end of the venue was a good touch. Even with many after-work, happy hour guests, it was pleasant at our table.
The view of the waterfront is great, but the blinds made it difficult to really enjoy it.
Heather was our server, she was fantastic.

ive been to the midtown branch of this restaurant, and had a good experience with their burgers. ive passed by this new one before, and finally decided to try it out last night. theres a lot of seating available outside, and its really relaxing to watch people walk their small dogs (or equally small children) by the river at sunset.
our waitress was friendly and efficient. we started with the oyster sampler ($24). im not sure it there was supposed to be a several varieties of oysters, but they all appeared to be the same to me. the oysters were ok though fresh and cold, they werent very plump, so i found them slightly disappointing. i ordered the crab cake sandwich ($15, which the waitress said is very good) and my bf got the open face soft shell crab sandwich ($16). my crab cake sandwich came with some spicy mayonnaise. there were genuine lumps of crab in there, and it was lightly breaded and fried very satisfying. the soft shell crab sandwich was basically an entire fried crab, drizzled with blue cheese, atop a hunk of vinaigrette-dipped soft bread. it was also really good, and came with a small pile of roasted tomatoes.
for dessert, we split the chocolate chip souffle a la mode ($10). it was more like a hot chocolate chip cake than a souffle, since it was very dense, but it was a good end to the meal nonetheless. the vanilla ice cream helped to mitigate the sweetness of the souffle. it was really big, and perfect for sharing. overall, i had a really good experience and would come back on a nice day.

While the food is great, the bartendars are top-notch and the location is great on the water....the crowd overshadows all of that. Looking for a group of cocky men who tend to take off the rings and pounce on the pretty little things looking for a sugar daddy- then you will feel right at home. Let's put it this way- anything you have ever heard about the financial district and the men that work there... is all personified in the crowd at PJ Clarkes. Your best bet is a quiet Tuesday or Wednesday, or a weekend where you can sit outside and enjoy the Marina.
