I have been going to this Pet Bar location for three years, and I love the store and staff. They are all animal lovers themselves and are always able to answer my questions about products. When I moved about 10 blocks away, I found out they have free delivery! Now I call in my orders instead of going to the store.

I don't live in the neighborhood but I work long hours there, and it is great to be able to get the specialty foods I feed my pets when I know I can't get to the store in my neighborhood. This place has a great selection of premium pet foods at competetive prices, and they deliver. I don't know what the first reviewer is talking about -- I have never had any trouble communicating with anyone at the store, but I guess some people have trouble with accents or something. It is hard to find a place to shop for pet supplies that is not a big chain and that carries the better brands, and this store has almost all of them. Yes, it's small, but with Manhattan real estate I expect that of an independent pet store. Also, this is one of the only places in the city that sells Pill Pockets!

The place was recommended to me by fellow dog owners. I went in and could barely turn around in the isle, it's so tiny! The prices are okay, the selection is good for a place this size, but there is one big defect. The guy who was manning the place barely spoke English, so he couldn't answer my questions. One of the things I look for in a pet store is knowledgeable staff, and it's difficult to assess somebody's knowledge when you have trouble communicating over the concept of a game of ""tug."" I'm all for multilingualism, but some jobs are better for people who speak poor English than others, and customer service is one of them.
