According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), every single day 29 people in the U.S. die in a drunk driving car crash. Therefore, it is not surprising if you know of someone who has been injured or killed by a drunk driver. We all hear or read about such senseless tragedies on a daily basis. If you or a member of your family has suffered serious injury in an accident caused by a drunk driver, you are in need of legal as well as medical intervention lest the exorbitant costs of medical treatment and the enormous amount of lost income don’t swamp your family in debt during this awful time.
Wrongful Death
You have probably heard of cases where a twin was missed on an ultrasound or the gender of the fetus was misidentified by the doctor. Unfortunately, there are far more serious mistakes made, mistakes that result in wrongful birth or wrongful death. There have been occasions in which a fetus is mistakenly diagnosed with Down syndrome or some other abnormality and the parents make the agonizing decision to abort what turns out to be a normal fetus.
Traffic Violations
Is well-prepared to serve clients who have been seriously injured in an accident by another motorist’s reckless driving. It is bad enough to be hurt in a car accident caused by bad weather or an unexpected animal in the road, but to have someone else take chances with your life is a terrible injustice. From our offices in Roseland and Manhattan, we are here to help you get your life back on an even footing.

Hit and Run
Unfortunately, hit and run car accidents are not a rarity. As a matter of fact, in the U.S. we average more than one hit-and-run accident every minute. Even more disturbing for New Jersey residents, in our state fatal hit-and-run accidents are on the rise, up 38 percent between 2013 and 2016. Though we can speculate on some of the reasons for the increase in such incidents, for the victims of hit-and-run drivers causation makes very little difference. If you have suffered serious injuries, or tragically lost a family member, to a hit-and-run driver, it is critical that you retain the services of a tough, experienced car accident attorney, one who will fight to make sure that you receive every bit of compensation you deserve.
Whether you require help in establishing a new business, creating a partnership or limited liability company (LLC), shareholders’ agreement, non-compete agreement, or any other type of business contract, Nagel Rice will deliver efficient service. You can be sure that any document we create for you will serve your best interests and be legally binding. We are always available to prepare financial agreements of any kind, including promissory notes, stock pledge agreements, trademark registrations, and letters of credit. Furthermore, you can count on our negotiation and litigation skills to help you resolve any business disputes in your favor.
Premises liability laws require all property owners (and in some situations, renters) to maintain their property and keep it safe for visitors. If you have slipped and fallen due to the negligence of someone else, the law provides for you to be compensated for your medical expenses and other costs resulting from your injuries.
Land Use and Zoning
Nagel Rice has experience in representing individual homeowners, commercial property owners, neighborhood groups and condo associations when it is necessary to oppose development that threatens property value or quality of life. Our lead attorney has broad knowledge or how to fight unsuitable applications for development since he has worked on a municipal planning board, held elected public office, and appeared with great success before scores of planning and zoning boards.
Property Damage
New Jersey state law also requires that all drivers carry minimum coverage for collisions involving UM/UIM motorists as follows: $15,000 for injuries suffered by a single person in the accident; $30,000 for injuries suffered by all those injured in the accident; $5,000 for property damage caused by the accident. It’s important to understand that the purpose of this type of insurance, though it may sound as if it benefits the UM/UIM motorist, is really to protect you.
Although all New Jersey drivers are legally required to have their vehicles insured, media coverage alone makes us aware that a great many drivers are driving with insufficient insurance or without any insurance at all. Unfortunately, though not unexpectedly, such drivers are often the ones who cause, or are at least partially responsible for, serious accidents, personal injury, and even carnage on our streets and highways.
