So may be I went inside because I liked the name. Whatever. The place was a good time. Nice bar. Big, long. Opens to a nice room. Pool table in the middle of the back room. Drinks were good. I didn't need that many because i could FEEL them after two. Service was on point, cute waitresses add to the whole fat black pussycat thing. I am going back. Good mix of people. Met a cute girl (extra star)

My friends like, let's leave, the music is wack, it's blowing my mood. I wanna go somewhere that's really live. I'm like, last time I came here, which was brief, seemed so appealing. I dragged her to the city all the way from Queens just to go to this place and it sucked. So she's like what is the DJ doing? Playing YouTube videos? He was literally just waltzing around, milkin the clock or whatever. idk. So I'm like we'll let me see if he can play something a little upbeat? People ask DJs stuff like that right? So, I got up and approached the DJ with a smile and I said ""Heyyyyyyy wassup? Can you play something a little more upbeat?"" Now, usually, a professional DJ would say ""ok sure whatever"" just to get someone out of their ear and away from the booth, and continue with his/her life. But no, this DJ (5'7, Filipino/Asian looking, about 180 lbs, kinda looks like Tila Tequila though he might find that complimenting if you kno what I mean) just completely blacked out on me. Hes like, no, since you asked like that. Im like asked like what? How was i supposed to ask? On bending knee? I didnt approach him wrong, at all. The DJ starts YELLING AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS, down at me from the booth, screaming about how I was ""insulting his job"" and I ""have no sense or idea about music"" and to ""get the F*%k out of his F$&king face"" and it goes on. So i reply like ""what is wrong with you? Are you ok? I asked a simple question and you're acting like I emasculated (nvm)-- but anyway, it's not that serious."" The DJ just starts getting louder and louder to the point my friend heard him from our table 15 feet away. O__o wtf..... He just lost it, went off his top screaming ""GET THE F$CK OUT OF MY FACE, GET THE F$CK OUT MY FACE!!, LEAVE IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT IM PLAYING. GET THE F$CK OUT OF HERE!!!!!!"". I just paused and stared at him, I look back, everyone's staring at us. Smh. And the waiter approaches me like ""oh you can't ask him what to play"". I'm like ""wait, what? Isn't that supposed to be the most personable person here? And didn't you ask me if I had any request? So I asked him myself?, what was the big deal?"" So i see that he obviously ""Runs NY"", and im like ok, fine. As I walked away he starts tellin ""YEAH GET THE F$CK OUTTA HERE!!, THAT'S WHY YOU LOOK LIKE SH!T!!, F$CK YOU!"" I'm like wow... If I even say what I want to say back, I'll look like an A$$HOLE and sound real prejudice, but cool. I jus reply ""get some real DJ lessons and some anger management"". So I took the L, and sat down. My friend is like ""wth happened???!"". I couldn't even give her a real answer because I didn't really know either. Though I had the real urge to bust his scalp open with my mug, I just shook my head in disbelief. The waiter comes and I'm like get the manager. 5 mins later, the manager approaches the table asking how he could ""be of service"". (white bald guy, like 5'8""). I almost slapped him. Really? Your DJ just cursed me out and verbally assaulted me cuz I asked him to play something ""upbeat"" and you're here being patronizing? Alright. Time to go. He's like ""oh, if you have any request just go through me"". Totally ignoring the actual matter at hand. So, since I'm in grad school with a future ahead, I decide I'll leave before I'm in central bookings for aggravated assault. And my BFF is like texting everyone in her phone to not go there and tweeting about it. I couldn't even bother. We sent our drinks back to the bar. The smartest thing the waitress did was not charge me, (oooh $5.50, sweet. -__-) . If i could give no stars and a ounce of cow sh!t, i would. Never. Ever. Ever. Going back there. And I'll make sure everyone I know doesn't either. And I know a lot of people. :)

Great club! I did enjoy my night out over there; music was fine, the service and drinks were not bad at all. Really nice atmosphere. We were a bit skeptical regarding the door policy though..the first time we went there the line was huge, it took us almost an hour to get into the club. The second time we were 9people and we booked a Limo night out package for like $160 , for 1h limo tour and admission in the club skipping the line (limotournyc) that was a pretty good deal! Anyway I’ll definitely go back there!

I was meeting friends in the area, they suggested the place. It is bizarre; it starts out as a beautiful bar, moves into this big room with great booths and then takes a turn into this red velvet room with couches and a thrown. Did I mention there was karaoke in the red room? But all in all it was a great time. The karaoke lady was really nice, she sang along with me (I have no idea how i ended up singing karaoke. . . ). The waitress was polite and fast. The bartender was pretty cool too. I had a great time. It is no hassle low key fun in the village. Nothing pretentious, just fun. I suggest that you go there!

I was here this Saturday night for a friend's birthday party. I guess she made the mistake of not making a reservation. But once the manager and server heard it was my friend's birthday they gave us the VIP treatment, as well as the VIP room! We had a great time. The drinks are big and strong. The music is great. You can dance to it! Service was awesome. The waiter was nice. Checked on us a lot. Fast service. I will be back!

i loved the interior design of this place very modern. great music, though the locals are a little rowdy for my taste. a fight broke out and they spilled drinks on my shirt. overall id visit the place again, but not soon.

The Bartenders were polite and and prompt in taking orders despite a high volume crowd- too bad they were also very generous with the amount of water they infused into my jack and coke! Good time all around, but im not rushing back anytime soon...

I went to Fat Black Pussycat over the weekend with some friends and had a great time. Cool atmosphere, good drinks & good service. We met a bunch of nice people that we ended up hanging out with all night. I'm excited to go back to check out the after work scene as my office isn't that far away

I love this place. It has a variety of atmospheres. The service is friendly, and the drinks are big. If you make a reservation, the manager comes to check and make sure that you are happy. They lose a star for having old restrooms.

Only on the right night though. Because some nights you can run into some crazy people at the Fat Black. Love the drinks and the music is okay.

This bar is okay, theres nothing specifically special about it, but the waitress we had was horrible. She wasn't happy with her tips, and didnt understand that to have good tips you nweed to be pleasent. We have never gone back since and wont.

I have been here for new years as well on a typical saturday night. I had issues with the service on new years but that was quickly resolved by the management and the owner who made up for it big time. Its a definitely fun place, they have pretty good food and strong drinks. I would gladly return since unlike other venues, they actually value customer satisfaction and make sure everything goes well. I definitely recommend this place whether its just a hang out with friends or even a birthday party as you are bound to have a great time.

My bff planned this night out and it didn't dissapoint! Their drinks are so yummy I had some kind of pineapple vodka martini that was so delish there was o way I could stop at one! We went cuz my friends said they had karaoke which I can't resist to sing a few songs with my girls but to our surprise they also had a fab band that sounded way better then our singing! So after we sang a few songs to each other we went downstairs to listen to the real singers and I can't wait to go back!\r Thanks so much for a fun night out! You guys rock!

I had a going away party here last Saturday night. It worked out great. The back room is really pretty with candles and couches etc. Downstairs there was dancing with a DJ and really good band. Drinks and service were great. No complaints.

I had a fun night here a few weeks ago, I know people who aren't into the club scene who enjoy the FBPC so on a Wednesday I got in touch with Kristen about making a reservation for my birthday party on a Sat night. She was amazingly responsive (I seriously wonder when she sleeps!), answered ALL my questions in a few e-mails back and forth and I thought the policy for resrving a table was AMAZING. \r \r No bottle service is important to my friends and I. We will spend money on drinks and food, and we all believe in big tipping so the required 20% tip wasn't any problem, esp as our waitress was great and was working hard all night-just sorry that she did her job so well that I forgot her name! So large cover charges and bottle service policies turn us off. I didn't hear a single complaint from my group about the minimum tab you need to run. Everyone felt it was fair and we have a lot of personalities to please! \r \r Despite them not having Guiness in the Underground (they have it in the actual FBPC- which is where we had some drinks before the Underground opened- as we arrived early) the waitress got us two rounds of it for ""car bombs"" which we really appreciated b/c I know it wasn't something they really offer.\r \r The DJ keeps the place jumping and he kept my party dancing all night. My friends all had a great time!! Overall he spun better than most places I've been but I'll always hate them cutting a song short- esp when it's one I love.\r \r Also- I have to mention that having the kitchen open until 2 is awesome and as someone always gets hungry this time we didn't have to kill the party early to feed them!\r \r Overall- a GREAT time- DO watch the dress code as they check. Kristen was extremely helpful and I'm going to keep her e-mail addy for a possible girls night out soon! Kristen even checked up on us at least once- that's great customer service. The bouncers were cool too. One of my friends tried to dance on a seat- a no-no most places- and he just signaled her and shook his head- very cool that he didn't have a power trip like many can- he didn't yell or get mean. I also love that there aren't a million sleezy guys there trying to hit on everything female and breathing- this place is a great time every time!! You won't regret it- table or no- the cover is VERY fair too. The owners know you can make money without ripping off your clientelle- which is why I'll gladly come back over and over. Might try a calmer night in the lounge next time though!

You just never know what to expect at this place... I went on Tuesday night and PRINCE was there. Not only was he there but he actually got up and sang. I still can't believe I went to the fat black and saw Prince perform live I'm still in shock. I love this place!

I've been there a couple of times, and enjoy myself thoroughly. I think I like this place so much because it gives you so many enjoyable options.\r \r From dancing to live music or a DJ. To the relax atmosphere of the lounge. To the fun and hectic nature of the bar. I got a pleasant vibe. From the bouncers, bartenders and the rest of the staff. They were all very friendly. I will definetely go back.
