This used to be my favorite neighborhood bar...until Charlie the bartender is no longer there. Now the new bartenders, John being one of them, is totally lame. This used to be one of the best bars in NYC, Now, I've walked in here on many occassions, and there is absolutely no music playing. There is no juke box, so music can only be played when requested to the bartender. They are so boring that most of the time, they will not even play anything, or take anybody's requests. Bottom line is, this place needs to find more friendlier staff (besides the nice waitress) as the crowd that goes here deserves better than that!

The bartender on Tues-Thurs may be a delightful Irishman, but the bartender on Sundays didn't get that off, off, offoffoff Broadway role he so desperately pined for. So, he will be taking his passive aggression out on YOU. Don't even THINK about being asked if you want another drink or perhaps a glance at the menu. And the word ""thank you"" will NEVER be a part of his vernacular during this time of the month. He should spend less time getting the perfect crease in his spectacularly-ironed shirt and more time working the crease out of his miserable personality. And I do not understand the rating system on this site. A total of 4 people gave this place 13 stars. That's a 3.25 average score. Yet Citisearch gives it 4.5 stars. Strange.

This is the best neighborhood bar I've been to, and I don't even live here! I've hung out enough to see the bread being delivered in the wee hours of the morning. The bartender on Tues-Thurs is delightful Irishman. Make friends with him and he'll let you choose the music on the CD change. Stay late enough and you might even hear his rendition of Danny Boy. And you may just have some celebrity sightings, as two ABC soaps and ABC News are filmed close by... Failte!
