Great Visit

I moved to NYC 3 years ago and had not been to the dentist since I moved here so I was a little nervous about finding one that I liked and trusted! Dr. Vytsman's office is beautiful and the staff is amazing. Dr. Vytsman was quick and professional. I would recommend her and the staff at East Side Dental Medicine to anyone!!!

The office is gorgeous and everyone is extremely nice, and the dental work I had done (very minor) was fine. BUT, there is something fishy here. First, it is extremely expensive and they charge for services that other practioners include automatically. Like $170 to meet with the dentist for 15 minutes, a meeting where she told me that I needed more than $36,000 worth of dental work! And she made it seem that if I did not undergo this treatment I would suffer serious consequences. (Mind you, I see my dentist twice annually and have always ""kept up"" with both cosmetic and other dental care.) Long story short, I returned to my regular dentist who assured me that I do not need that amount of care. So beware of their recommendations -- I really feel like they try to ""up-sell"" expensive services.

Worst experience ever!

Do not be fooled by the beautiful office space, this is the worst dental care EVER! First, he convinced me that I needed treatment not covered by my insurance because of the ""severity"" of my condition, and had me apply for a financing only to be told during my next visit that I didn't need that treatment and that he made a mistake in my diagnosis. I then agreed to the cheaper treatment and requested the difference since I had already applied for financing, only to be told that he again had made a mistake and that the first, more expensive treatment was best. When I refused I was told I would have to come back for yet another appointment, which was a problem since I had taken so many days off already. Anyway, after the treatment which did help with my initial problem I was told I needed something else done and after 2 unsuccessful treatments I decided I would not return. \r Oh and beware, of the $100 initial charge for pictures which they don't tell you about after they've been taken and don't expect any treatment during your initial visit since it's only for an ""assessment"". \r Overall, it's a lot of time wasted for unsuccessful treatments. The space is beautiful but not for the overpriced sub-par work. I admit, I was fooled by the beautiful place and didnt heed the warning sides and allowed myself to be duped so take my advice and avoid this place at any cost. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Have been going to these dentist for about 1 year already. Have seen Dr.Srivastava and Dr Castracane and i do believe now that they are the best dentist i've ever come across to. The staff is beyond wonderful and so is space's atmosphere. Always look forward to see them and for sure my smile looks 100% better.. Extremely happy to have this team in my life!! Recommend them to everyone.... especially to those who have had bad experiences and don't like to visit the dentist office as much,, once you meet these guys your point of view will change forever....

I had another great quarterly cleaning today. Dr. Castracane was as friendly as ever. I also had my first profile x-ray taken on their new machine. The images were so clear and crisp. Joanne gave me a great and thorough cleaning. I loved the polish at the end. It made my teeth feel so smooth. Can't wait for my next visit!

I have been fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Jyoti Srivastava for 15 years. Every healthcare provider should emulate the care and attention she provides to her patients. Moreover, she is not only an excellent dental care provider, but she is an exceptional human being. Her warmth and personality combined with her skill and professionalism make dental visits a pleasure (which, I know, is not how most people describe their experience at the dentist, but then again, they don’t have my dentist). Drs. Srivastava and Castracane also must be commended for their hiring practices, as everyone on their staff is as professional and are as equally warm as they are. I can’t recommend Dr. Srivastava enough.\r \r

I had a very hard time finding a dentist in NYC that I both liked and trusted. Dr. Srivastava was the perfect answer to my problem. I've been going to her now for several months and I've received top notch care both from her and from her staff. Dr. Srivastava is extremely capable & very caring. She always takes time with her patients to make sure they understand and are comfortable with any work she needs to do. Her staff is also amazing! They are extremely professional, very responsive, and always polite & friendly. They've been excellent in dealing with insurance claims and accomodating in terms of appointments. I couldn't ask for more from a dentist or an office!

Eastside Dental Medicine makes going to the dentist a pleasure. The moment I met Dr. Srivastava and the very capable staff, I knew I was in the right place. And, I might mention I travel from Bucks County, PA! The great end result of my very extensive implant/prosthodontic treatment was well worth the travel time... and the compliments on my teeth are priceless! In my opinion, I consider Eastside Dental the best dental practice I've ever known.

I've been going to Dr. Srivastava for 15 years, and she's seen me through cleanings, cavities and two pregnancies (which turn out to have quite an impact on your teeth!). She is gracious, thorough, careful and gentle, and has the entire patient in mind. She explains the procedures at every step, and does everything to prevent dental catastrophe instead of just fixing you up and sending you out the door. Her staff is personal and warm, and I can't imagine anyone taking better care of us!

Dr. Srivastava has been my dentist for almost 2 decades. She is terrific. I've recommended her to everyone. Her work is impeccable, and pain-free. When I was forced in an emergency to see a dentist in another city he actually exclaimed at the exceptional quality of her work. Dr. Srivastava has cared for me through dental trauma (bike crash) and now reconstruction. The staff are smart and caring. Great hygienist, coordinators and assistants.

Dr. Castracane and the team at Eastside Dental Medicine provide excellent dental care. My husband and I have been going there for 3 years.\r \r They are all so friendly and personable, plus very professional.\r \r Dr. Castracane is very skilled and caring. He emphasizes preventative care. When he needs to do reconstructive work, he is excellent.\r \r I recently had a root canal and Dr. Castracane called me every evening for 2-3 days to see how I was doing.\r \r Their new offices are also very modern and tastefully appointed. It makes me feel relaxed and comfortable.\r \r I highly recommend Eastside Dental Medicine!\r

For years I dreaded my dental checkups, but then my wife sent me to Eastside Dental and I'm pleased to say that's not the case anymore. Thorough, thoughtful, precise, professional and knowledgeable, I can't imagine there is anyone else around to compete with Dr. Srivastava's know-how. My hygienist Marcela is always careful, swift and painless. The office staff is also as friendly as could be. I can't recommend Eastside more highly.

Eastside dental medicine is the best place to go for dental care. I have been a patient there for ten years and I would never go anywhere else. The new office is spectacular! The staff is very friendly and professional. The dentists, Drs. Srivastava and Castracane offer the most modern treatment with cutting edge technology. They possess the rare quality of being extremely knowledgeable and talented yet down to earth and warm. I am always comfortable there. I never wait more than 3 minutes. I am reassured by the cleanliness. The doctors and staff always wear gloves and masks when they work on you. The equipment is all sealed in plastic wrapping to ensure infection control. Dr. Srivastava is very conscientious and compulsive about each treatment she gives; always aiming for perfection. The bottom line is the final dental result which for me has been excellent. I am very happy to get my dental care at Eastside Dental. I recommend them highly.

I needed an emergency appointment right away and Dr. Castracane agreed to see me on the spot, when my other dentist's office said that it would have to wait until Monday. Not only did Dr. Castracane fix me within the hour, but he also uncovered other poor work from the previous dentist, repaired it all, and now it's perfect! I'm proud to be smiling again. \r \r Dr. C takes the time to explain what he is doing at every step so there are no surprises. He also explains what is wrong and the best way to fix it. It's the best dental care I've ever received. \r \r Equally impressive is the office and the way it's run. It's welcoming, friendly, and extremely professional. If I ever have a question, the entire staff is helpful, knowledgeable and very personable. \r \r I will never stress about going to the dentist ever again. \r \r \r

It has been a privilege to grow with Dr. Srivastava as her patient for the last 16 years. Dr. Srivastava and her team have always worked with me as my ability to care for my teeth has steadily improved and it's been a pleasure to refer many of my friends and acquaintances numerous times as her office as grown and changed into the beautiful space it is now. Dr. Srivastava embodies the rare ability to scientifically care for the teeth yet also care for the person. I had never experienced a Doctor calling me personally after a procedure to see how I was doing yet this is her normal mode. I have been through many dental implants, root canals, and cosmetic procedures and all were performed well and left aesthetically undetectable. If it matters to you that your teeth are cared for in the most complete way and you understand that they are an investment in your total health then you should visit this office with complete confidence.
