    Very clean, pedis last well

    Provided by

I started going here in Summer '10 after reading about the hygiene practices. This location lives up to the hype -- the sinks are cleaned after every customer, and every customer gets a fresh emery board, buffing block and toe separators (I've only had a pedicure here). You can bring these three tools home with you to bring back next time, which helps prevent waste, or get a fresh set every time. All the tools are fresh and sealed. The technician sanitizes your feet and her hands. I always get a basic pedi, though they offer a range of fun styles. My pedi has always lasted a full month, at which time I usually go right back because by then my nails have started to grow out and a chip or two will appear in the polish. I agree with other reviewers that the cost is a little higher than other places (I pay $35 for a basic pedi), but it's worth it to be safe and to be a in fun, clean environment.

    Best Nail Salon in NYC

    Provided by

I have been coming to this salon ever since it opened. In fact, I started coming here before all the hype on tv and in the magazines about Dashing Diva because I live a few blocks away. Although the prices are higher than the typical neighbourhood salon, their pedicures are equivalent to what you get (maybe even slightly better) at Bliss or The Red Door, and for less money. They are obsessed with hygiene and sanitation, and in this era of the H1V1 virus, it pays to be extra cautious in that regard. Although they get a lot of celebrities (my friend saw Beyonce there in September!), they treat everybody like they are VIPs, which I really appreciate.

A Little Expensive, but worth the price

    Provided by

I get pedicures here as a little treat to myself. They last beautifully and the experience is relaxing and stress free. I recommend this salon to friends and have never heard negative feedback. The price is a bit higher than some salons but it is worth it for the atmosphere.

    LOVE this Place!!

    Provided by

Ever since I went to Dashing Diva for a friend's 30th birthday party last year, I've been hooked. It is a bit more expensive than some smaller nail places, but in my opinion TOTALLY worth it. On certain nights, they offer cosmos (for a few dollars each) with your services. It's hard to get better than sipping a cosmo while getting a pedicure and chatting with your girls. They also offer the drink service any time you book a larger party. We just went for our girls' night with 8 girls and had a BLAST. They were so accommodating and did a great job on everyone's nails. \r What I especially love about this place is that is seems SO much CLEANER and more hygienic than so many other smaller shops I have been to in the area. They give each person their own personal files and even use sanitizer on both your hands and theirs before manicures. They offer a wide range of services, but even the most basic are well-done. I highly recommend this place if you are in need of a little pampering!!!

    Long lasting manicures

I have been here a few times for manicures and pedicures. Very clean, do a thorough job and tend to last longer than most.

    a sure PICK ME UP

    Provided by

I finally stopped into dashing diva on a Friday evening after work. WOW was the decor fun to look at and also, I was given a free cosmo martini while I got my manicure. Eveything is super sterilized as well. I got to keep my nail file and nail buffer bc they throw them away after each use. I got two hand massages and each hand wrapped in a warm towel whole she works on the other. The manicur ei s15$, but well worth it. My only advice is; if your a die hard essie or OPI girl, bring your won polish. DD makes their own nail polish and i missed my sugar daddy color!

    Great Virtual Nails!

    Provided by

For a regular manicure, DD is rather expensive and also below average quality. My nails were chipping after 2-3 days; the French manicure I get for $9 lasted a whole week and a half before the polish started coming off. But, on the positive side, their Virtual Nails are wonderful. They look amazingly real and the whole process was painless. (Of course, I've never tried acrylic nails or any other kind of fake nails.) The measuring took some time but once they have your sizes on record, the 2nd time is a breeze. Also, the color lasted two entire weeks! I only went back to get them removed because the recommended wear time is 2 weeks; otherwise I would've kept on wearing them. Virtual Nails are rather pricey, though, so I'd recommend getting them only for a very special occasion. I also noticed my nails were very dry after the removal - it could be an effect of the Virtual Nails?

Terrible customer service and lousy quality polish and treatments!!! DO NOT GO THERE!

    Provided by

This salon is a complete joke. The customer service is terrible!! I brought a child there for her 10th birthday as a gift for a ""Little Diva Mani"" & ""Little Diva Pedi"" When we sat down for our pedis the technician asked how old she was and she responded 10. She then asked me what service I would like for her and I responded ""The Little Diva Manicure and Pedicure"" please. She got to work. About an hour after when we were through with our treatments she brings me a slip for a $35 pedi and $15 mani for my 10 year old! I questioned and she told me they must be 8 or under. Why didn't she tell me that when I asked for the service??? Her manager came over and I told her that I was not informed by her technician and was under the impression she was receiving the ""Little Diva"" treatments. The owner or manager whoever she was told me it's MY RESPONSIBILITY to know that information and it's my problem that she didn't want a massage and has not callouses to remove! I argued with them for about 15-20 minutes...and in the end they made me pay for an adult manicure and pedicure! The woman was rude, inconsiderate and acting inappropriately in front of a child! If my child was not with me I would have given her the amount for the ""Little Diva' services and walked out!!! Then... this morning when I got to work I looked down and saw my own manicure was chipped in THREE spots! This place is a ripoff and the people who worked there were rude and uninformed! It's decor only gets it so far, I will never, ever go back!

Fun ambiance, not great quality manicure

    Provided by

Dashing Diva definitely has a fun air about it. It's a fun place to go with your girlfriends with old Britney Spears music videos playing on the flat screens. But I have to agree with the last person who posted... the manicures fall short. They have their own brand polish (which was hard for me to handle, being a devoted Essie follower) but I gave it a shot. \r \r I went in after work on a Friday for a mani/pedi and free cosmo. The cosmo was great, the staying power of the polish not so much. I let my nails dry twice, then took the subway home to Queens. When I got home my puppy's tooth slid across the nail leaving a huge gash in the polish. Ruined that manicure.\r \r Then a couple of my friends wanted to go the next week for the free cosmos. I agreed and enjoyed myself once again. A day and a half later all of the polish peeled off in sheets.\r \r I enjoyed myself at Dashing Diva but will get future manicures from Essie using salons. I normally pay $11 for a manicure, and the free cosmo and $15 manicure at Dashing Diva isn't enough to keep me coming back.

Greedy establishment. Will charge to correct their own mistakes!

    Provided by

I have to be pretty furious to go through the trouble of writing an angry review and I?m definitely not an ?angry customer.? I don?t even like sending my food back when the establishment screws up! Ok, so I?ll make this as brief and concise as possible. \r \r -I get my nails done Sunday; the lady paints my nails too thick. I dried them 3 times under the UV light and even 2 hours later, they were still not dry and got messed up.\r -I go back Monday and explain and I get my nails repainted. I tip the lady $4, thank them, and walk out the door.\r -They insist that I pay even though I explain that it?s not my fault. The owner wouldn?t even look me in the eye when she ordered the girl to charge me.\r -I?m a frequent customer (3x/month) and always tip 30-40%; I?m on a first-name basis there!\r -They charge me $15!!! Not for a manicure but for polish. JUST POLISH.\r \r Are they that hard-up for cash that they have to charge me $15 just for polish??? Never again?\r

    Best manicure experience!

    Provided by

I visited Dashing Diva before catching my flight back to Dublin, Ireland. The staff were the friendliest Ive come across and were complete professionals. They fitted my sister and I in and knew we were under a time constraint. The decor is really quirky, fun and the atomsphere relaxing. They have a fabulous array of nail polishes and I couldnt help but buy some, I really enjoyed my manicure and cant wait to return to New York to visit Dashing Diva again!

    The best salon in Manhattan!

    Provided by

I have been going to the Dashing Diva for years now, and I love the service, decor and all the special charm they add to the place. If you are a regular, they know you when you walk in the door! They are super clean, with new files for each patron. They have tons of super luxurious pedicures to choose from -- which are in some cases only a few dollars more than a standard pedi. There is also ZERO sales pressure to upgrade or get extra services, which is such a nice relief compared to so many of the other salons in the neighborhood.\r \r I had my bridesmaids there for a mani/pedi party the day before my wedding and they treated everyone so lovely -- with Cosmos for everyone.\r \r They also change the decor and have promotions throughout the year that make it even more fun to go there. And there are tons of pedicure stations, so even when they are packed, the wait isn't going to be too terrible.

    Worst pedicure ever

    Provided by

I had the worst pedicure of my life at this spot. I figured I would get a run-of-the-mill, average pedicure here, but the pedicure I got was terrible. The polish job was messy, my feet were barely scrubbed, and I had to get a new pedicure within the week. Terrible.
