I had a reservation for 8am. I showed up at 8:10, and there was only one employee, who spoke very little English. He said "the guy who uses the computer" wasn't there yet. I reacted with surprise and asked when he would be there. I was told half an hour. So I waited until almost 9 and asked where he was. The employee said he didn't know when the guy would be there and told me to go somewhere else. I called Budget customer service, and they told me first that they couldn't get in touch with the guy, then told me they had no trucks available in Manhattan. They said I could go to Queens (from Washington Heights) to get one, without so much as offering a discount. I ended up getting a truck from Uhaul, which had plenty of trucks ready to go, at cheaper prices. Because of Budget (and Heights Management), I had to leave some things behind and barely got my move done.
