Counter sensations

I have nothing but praise for Brick 33.
They have a great selection of pies. All delicious.
Favorite's include the white... nice sense of olive oil.
Mama's aka deep dish - you know - the thick square cut; thick crispy flakey crust just enough sauce & cheese.
Pasta - fantastic combo of 'za & penne. More than a meal!
Margarita - really good - but can always use more basil.
Traditional - consistently good.
Many many more for you meat eaters to choose from.

Don't forget to leave room for dessert - next door.

Best pizza in the city

you have to try the magherita slice here - the tomatoes are so juicy and the cheese is so fresh! the crust is very thin too which i love (less carbs!) all the specialty slices here are fantastic too

Burnt Pizza

This place is usually very good. They are open late and use very good ingredients. However, the bottom of my pizza has been burnt the last few times. I have heard this problem from friends of mine who eat there too. I hope they fix this issue or I will definitely consider one of the other 10 places in the neighborhood my new ""go to"" pizza place

Best Pizza in NYC

I used to work for Gourmet magazine exploring the world of food as a taste tester. When I settled down in Manhattan, the one place I go to have an enjoyable slice EVERY SINGLE TIME, is Pizza 33. The staff is wonderful, the pizza is always hot and delicious. The ingredients are always extremely fresh and there is the perfect balance of cheese, tomato sauce, and dough regardless of what type you choose to order, I have never been let down by this pizza joint. In my opinion, the Margarita pizza is the best in New York City. The only place you might be able to get a better slice is in Italy.

Worst pizza experience in NYC

I'm no expert on pizza, but I do remember, in my youth, deftly forcing other children to eat my mudpies. Pizza 33 distinctly brings the whole mudpie experience back to the forefront of my mind. If I had enemies, I would recommend them to Pizza 33. We ordered a large plain cheese; we received a large box with a small, rubbery greasespot inside. To make matters worse, our full order including bread and salad was not delivered. The rude management even refused to correct the situation.

Do not order from Pizza 33! Unless you're masochistic, do not put yourself in that situation. Of course, if you have a sadistic streak and really want others to suffer, recommend Pizza 33 to a friend!

Den of Sorrow

In a perfect world, I would eat nothing but Cheesy Gordita Crunches from Taco Bell. I would savor one cheesy, sour-creamy bite after another, delighting in the fact that I am eating pure joy. I would wash it down with Mountain Dew Baja Blast, a flavor so ridiculously good that it's available only in Taco Bell. To release it to the masses would be to invite anarchy to our beautiful American society. Unfortunately, it is not a perfect world and, as such, I must from time to time consume things besides the prestigious Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Tonight was one such time when, at work, we ordered the Terra e Mare pizza. A more appropriate name for this catastrophe would be the Terror e Nightmare pizza. The shrimp, which I imagined would be plump and delicious, were tiny. Do you know the feeling you get when you're embarrassed and want to curl into a ball? I expect that the shrimp were so ashamed to be a part of this disaster of a pizza pie that they shrunk into themselves. I can't say I blame them. I, too, would have been ashamed to be a part of that pizza. The mushrooms were also offensively bad. The other intern who ate the pizza said he liked the mushrooms, but he is from Maine, a den of iniquities so profound that I will not discuss them in the detail they require. The analyst whose credit card we used to order was likewise disappointed. He told us that the pizza was depressingly bad and that it reflected poorly on us as interns. He said, rightly, that in a city known for pizza that it was a true feat to discover a place that got every aspect of it wrong. Well done, Pizza 33. Thanks to you I have discovered the ultimate depths of human depravity - infinite. The other person to have reviewed this place is either an out-of-towner so enamored with the idea of new york pizza that he/she convinced himself/herself it was good (despite it not being so, I assure you) or he/she is an employee of this awful excuse for a restaurant.

Best pizza anywhere

Excellent pizza - tip: sometimes faster to call in for delivery than to walk over and wait in line.

Well worth the walk if you are within ten blocks

I can promise you that you cannot leave Pizza 33 disappointed. I am torn on whether or not to say it's the best pizza I have ever had, it's THAT good, and obviously good enough to write a review about. Don't hesitate to request a special slice that you don't see out on display, they are more than willing, and will probably taste fresher anyway. Granted the lines are long at 3am, but what pizza place wouldn't be at that time that is within one block of 10 bars. The line moves quite quickly too. It's not a restaurant, it's a regular old pizza place, but it's amazing, a must try if you are ever in the area.
