I went to the Aveda store at Columbus Circle a couple of days ago to purchase some products and dealt with Sarah, who was super friendly ! I asked her what she thought of Bumble & Bumble since I needed a haircut and color. She told me that they use Aveda color but suggested I try Peter Corvington at the Aveda Salon Vandam, who cuts her hair and she loves it. Since I am only in the city for about six weeks this summer, I called today to make an appointment for next week. I had to leave a message and someone called me back - so far so good. However, the woman who called was unpleasant from the moment she said hello. She also got my name wrong but that is ok. She then asked me if I wanted to do color and a cut and I said yes. When she asked me what kind of color, I told her that I would see that with Peter once I got there but that it would probably be highlights. She then told me that there are three different types of highlights and unless I came to the salon and have it figured out, I could not make an appointment. I then asked her if she could not just book me for color and a cut - long silence. Well, I told her that I was busy and that I could not come in several times to just have someone look at my hair and then schedule the actual appointment so if she was not able to book me with Peter, I would have to call someone else. I said it really nicely in the hopes that she would come around and give me an appointment but she simply said: Yes, do so ! What the ****? Are you serious. Ever heard of customer service? Apparently not ! Well, unfortunately I will not be able to enjoy Peter's color and cut but I am really put off by the woman who called me. So unprofessional! Guess who I will call next ? Exactly, Bumble&Bumble !
