My girlfriend and I went in to inquire about switching to AT&T and getting iPhones. (We had heard that it could be easier to get set up with service if we went to an At&T store rather than going to a Mac store.) We were informed that they had no iPhones in stock and that we could put in order and have them in two to four weeks. We clarified that we were interested in getting 3G Ss, not iPhone 4s. We were told that not only did their store not have any iPhones of any kind in stock, but that no one in the city did either. My girlfriend asked (incredulously), ""Not even the Mac stores?"" We were told unequivocally that no one, not even the Mac stores, had iPhones in stock.
We said OK, went outside, called the Mac store on 14th Street, and were informed (unsurprisingly) that they had plenty of iPhones in stock.
So, not only did this store not have the product we wanted, they also blatantly misinformed us about its availability elsewhere without being asked. So save your time and go straight to the Mac store if you want an iPhone.
