Assara Laser Hair Removal

I'm a tough customer, which is to say I've been to 2 other laser hair removal places and I find Assara to be the best place in manhattan. I had 5 treatments at assara and I'm going for my last laser hair removal session in 2 weeks. I find this place to be very professional and super modern and clean. The lasers they use look new and between laser hair removal sessions I've seen a drastic reduction in the amount of hair that actually grows back. They really go in-depth asking lots of background questions to make sure they put the laser at the right setting so you get maximum results (no hair growing back EVER!) with minimum pain. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to laser hair removal. The laser techs are really attentive and thorough... they don't miss a hair!

Just finished my third treatment at Assara (I purchased 3 treatments from LivingSocial). What a nice experience I had. I found the newly renovated place beautiful and artsy, the treatments pleasant (surprisingly no pain at all!), and the laser specialists knowledgable and sweet. I just purchased another package of 3 treatments for my bikini, and am very much looking forward to coming back in 6 weeks. I would not hesitate to recommend Assara to my friends.

I bought a coupon for 3 treatments. The first treatment was ok with Gloria, a few days later Angela called me to see how it went, I told her that I was still seeing a lot of hair on my legs and she had me come in to redo the treatment which on the one hand was nice but on the other hand, why do I need to go in twice instead of them doing a good job the first time - I don t have much time to waist. My second treatment went ok, the third treatment I was late for an appointment because of traffic and Angelo threw a hissy fit and told me she couldn't take me then but she "would be nice and wouldn't charge me" for the missed treatment. Mind you, she was NOT nice about the whole thing at all and there was no one waiting there - I am pretty sure I was the only person in the salon and she could have easily just done my treatment which takes 15 minutes anyway. I left emptyhanded and then when I came in another time to get my third treatment Angela told me that she applied my third treatment payment the time that I was late and now I had to pay the full $345 for the treatment. What??? If I knew she applied the coupon I would have never showed up to pay the full price in the first place! They waisted my time and clearly demonstrated that they have no concept of customers service whatsoever. Clearly if the place is placing groupons and living socials promotions they are trying to drum up new business - then why go about pissing potential new customers off in the process?? Who does this? Especially given that there are a million laser shops in Manhattan offering same or better deals? Bottom line - these people are rude, don't know how to conduct business and don't deserve your money and time - go someplace else!

Where do I begin? First of all, I thought this place was going to be great, having a 5-star review and all with 99.9% percent reviews being perfect. So I decided to give it a try and quickly made an appointment for a consultation. When I got there, I was completely ignored and waited a ridiculous amount of time. Then, I finally met with the consultant who had the worst, bitchiest attitude I probably had ever seen. I decided to do my full face, which was very expensive, but I did it anyway and paid full price with no discounts. The pain was excruciating the first time. The second time I went, I thought the technician would be nicer and I would have a better experience and boy was I wrong...every single time I went she would have the worst attitude. I would feel so un welcomed, and I would just want to leave every time I went. I'm about to end my 7 sessions, only to find out I need more sessions because I'm "not done". If the technician was truly a professional she would have known how many I would have need the very first time I got there. Now, she wants me to pay practically the same price I paid the first time. All she wants is your money!! I would always have terrible breakouts and when I told her she gave me this ridiculous daily routine that I knew would dry out my face. I tried it anyways and thats exactly what happened, it dried out my face. I did my own routine and my face started clearing up. When she found out I wasn't doing what she told me, she was bring her bitchy attitude again. How unprofessional, rude and annoying. I lie to her every time now telling her I am doing exactly what she tells me just to shut her up. And I would laugh every time she mentioned how my face was clearing up because little did she know I was doing the opposite of what she would tell me. The only time she was nice to me is when she knew I would pay her, either for a ridiculous and expensive moisturizer for my face which made it worse, or for touch-ups. What does that tell you? She's CRAZY if she thinks I'm coming back to this place. She thinks she knows everything, when in fact she gives irrelevant information. You're much better off going somewhere else.

Oh and about all those 5-star reviews? They write those themselves. I totally regret going here. Even if I do need touch-ups, i MUCH rather go somewhere else. I'm just telling you my experience here. So, GO AT YOUR OWN RISK OR DON'T GO AT ALL!!

Assara Laser was a great experience for me....the service was excellent and the laser techs were so nice. I got my bikini line done about 2 weeks ago and still i feel great about the job. I recommend you try this place out. I also found a deal that can help out anyone who doesn't want to pay alot. Its at halfoffdepot and its in the new york section.....check it out!

I went here for a consultation and the technician was sooooo rude! You could tell there was no management because she was speaking to me like she owned the place. I asked to speak to her boss and she said no one was here except her but there was soo many other people in the office, so I assume they just rent a room there. What a horrible practice not to have any management or owner around. They must think they are too good for everyone. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Obviously business is doing so well they have time to write their own reviews. I've written a couple of reviews about my experience with Assara and they keep getting deleted- Being that I have a permanent reminder of my bad experience with them- I refuse to let them kill my voice. Their 99.9% approval rating is fraud. If I have to wake up everyday and lotion my blemished skin ($150 per bottle of ligtening cream perscribed by my derm that is not covered by insurance) and shave areas that have been treated monthly for a year and still grow in- and deal with the fact that I spent way too much money on something that has not had the effects promised- and in certain areas (FACE) hair growth has been induced- then I will copy and paste my review every day- as they should also face the reality on a daily basis that they are crooks. Their Unlimited plan seems like a good deal that is too good to be true- well it is. Full body session are alloted 1.5 hours- waxing your leg gets done in about the same amount of time. The reality is the service is ineffective, and what is worse is that it can pose permanent damage to your body- burns, scars and induced hair growth. Please do your research- on various days and throughout a long period of time. From my experience, I see that bad reviews keep getting deleted from websites- so when you view reviews is very important. Friends of mine have paid slightly higher prices, but have gotten less and more effective treatments... so in the end- they pay less. Please do your research!

I have done my bikini (full), underarms, legs, and my lower part of the arms and I am soo pleased with my results. I initially came to Assara around the end of March just to do a consultation and get an idea of how laser hair removal worked. I booked because the gentleman who answered my call knew a lot about laser treatments and no other center I called gave me the answers/info he did just over the phone, everyone else said "I don't know I am not a technician just come in and speak with her". That didn't make me feel like I was in a professional place. I came in and did a consult which helped me understand the whole procedure as well as how many different laser machines are out there on the market. I like the phrase they use when describing other places with old machines or not even real lasers, they called them "Mom and Pop butchers shops" LOL!! Well that was the opposite of what I have experienced. I did use the topical cream because I am very sensitive but it made a world of a difference. I feel so great about my experience and my results I have bought my boyfriend a gift certificate to have his back done, I hate his back hair. Thank you so much Assara, I give you five stars and two thumbs up!!
