- The ASPCA Animal Hospital is located inside the ASPCA’s New York City headquarters at 424 East 92 Street. We are a premier American Animal Hospital Association-certified, small animal, medical, surgical and emergency facility, and have been providing high-quality specialized and general medicine since 1912. Our dedicated staff of 21 veterinarians (including board-certified specialists in internal medicine and surgery) and 31 licensed veterinary technicians are committed to providing the most up-to-date and compassionate care to the animals who come through our doors. ASPCA Animal Hospital provides: A state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Digital Radiology, allowing you to view your pet’s radiographs over the Internet. Ultrasound, echocardiograms and endoscopy performed by board-certified specialists. Soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries performed by board-certified specialists. Walk-in emergency care from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, and 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Saturdays. The ASPCA is an emergency, walk- in hospital. The hospital does not provide routine wellness care. No appointments are necessary. The ASPCA Animal Hospital is here to serve animals who would otherwise be unable to access veterinary care due to financial limitations. I've been really concerned in the past year about a dog that a neighbor has alone all day in her back yard without exercise, discipline and affection. I offered the lady to pay a dog walker another person to provide all these but she insists he is OK and that he is a GUARD dog. Don't believe he has heat or AC during extreme weather. It makes me so upset to hear this dog day and night barking and howling. After that I've called ASPCA and they couldn't come because the dog in not in danger. This organization is supposed to work for the prevention of animal cruelty but they wont come to check the condition of the dog because I haven't seen him being abused. But he sure is neglected.
Another time ASPCA helped out another guard dog after I called several times because this dog had a tumor. But after that the dog kept on having severe tick and flea problems and ASPCA said the dog was just fine. So basically unless the dog is almost dying they wont do an inspection to see how the animals are doing. It supposed to be Society for THE ""PREVENTION"" of ANIMAL CRUELTY. Not only for the PUNISHMENT of ANIMAL CRUELTY.
A 5-star veterinary hospital. The Bergh vets care so much about your animals and you. Their examinations are thorough, and their diagnostic evaluations are excellent. They have wonderful internal medicine vets and the vets, techs, and customer service reps work as a team. If your vet is not available, his/her "partner" vet will be able to help you out. There is good communication between visits, should your animal have an on-going medical problem that requires monitoring. Bergh's operations have become much more efficient in recent years. They provide excellent services for a reasonable fee. They help you know your pet better and provide education so you can ensure your animal's health is as good as it can be.

I have never in my life written a bad review about any business before, but I feel it is my duty to let all pet lovers know the truth about the ASPCA. My dog needed an emergency treatment on his neck which was getting worse by the minute, and was a life and death matter. I made an appointment to get a surgery and when I arrived I was told that the appointment was only to discuss the issues with the doctor who charged $130 for 3 minutes of his ""oh so precious time"". Furthermore my dog after 7 hour in the hospital had absolutely no treatment done because they felt it wasn't so important. Meanwhile they had already charged me $400 prior to anything. I heard nothing from them all day till I finally called myself and asked what the status of my dog was and they told me that nothing was done yet but will be done right now. My dog was sedated. Just minutes after sedation I received a phone call from the hospital stating that they would be closing at 7 and that the dog had to be picked up at 6 since that was the last call, only 40 minute notice. When I tried explaining to the lady that I will not be able to make it on time she basically told me she didn't care, and it had to be done regardless of what I say and then hung up on me. They are narcissist.
