Wednesday, 11/21/2007 -- Went to Aries Nail, like I occasionally do during my lunch hour. It was a bit crowded, waited several minutes (8 mins) before someone took me, took off my polish, began to file my nails, when she was interrupted and was told by the male manager to take another person -- that had come in AFTER me. Wasn't told someone else would take me shortly, nor was I told how long it would take before someone else could pick up where the girl started, nor was I told that this person did or didn?t have an appointment. Waited another 10 minutes before another girl (manicurist) came over and told me that she was going to take someone who'd arrived two minutes ago, and that she'd take me afterward. I asked her how long it would take before someone could give me a manicure, she said about 10-15 minutes. I got up and walked out. Will never go back there again--disorganization and lack of communication are horrible for business, because they leave clientele wondering if people actually have an appointment, have a preference for certain ?regulars,? or what. When I left there were six more people walking in and waiting. Sometimes a cheaper manicure at a cramped neighborhood spot IS NOT worth the wait, or the hassle. Won't be going back again anytime soon. Spend the extra few dollars on your manicure at Nails Together on east 60th Street between Madison and Park, a few blocks up. Everyone I?ve sent there has raved about it. I know I?ll be going after work, and not returning to Aries Nail again.
