10/10 Optics reflects customer service, and professional excellence at its finest. I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years and have never worked with people who have taken such an interest in the product they sell. They actually care that you walk out happy and if you have any problems they are there to assist without any questions asked. In the year+ since I first visited the store, my husband, two young adult children, and I have all purchased new glasses there (and I experimented successfully with mono lens contacts for the first time); we were also examined by Dr. Rozenberg. For my daughter, this exam was a real ""eyeopener"" (pun completely intended) as he detected \r that the prescription she had was completely off kilter. Helping you find a frame you are happy with makes them as happy as if they were going to wear the frames themselves. Working with Charlotte was truly a pleasure! She has a knack for figuring out not just which frame best \r matches your skin tone, face shape, and hair color (though these too) but also what appeals best to who you are and how you want to represent yourself--more conservatively, a little funky, more or less colorful, etc.After being turned off by people in other stores and being somewhat cynical, Ruth ""made"" this such a positive experience for my son. She must have let him try on at least 20 frames and then \r let him send to his personal e-mail the digital pictures taken of him in his top two choices so he could share the pictures and think about which he really wanted. As there often is in other places, there was no intense pressure to ""buy now or don't come back""...quite the contrary. If your glasses need adjustment and you need to return, do so and as many times as it takes. They will still treat you as they do a new customer. Most importantly, my husband and I both wear \r progressive lenses and these are extraordinarily ""high definition"". With a script as high as mine, I can tell the difference between lenses carved in an hour and lenses that ensure your best vision possible. Overall, the service here is unparalleled and I encourage everyone who needs some TLC in eyecare to visit. I suspect that you will never purchase glasses anywhere else in the future. I went there today after checked the reviews. I like the service here.. The owner helped me find the right fit one without rush.. Also she tell you don't let anyone rush you to make decision if you don't like it. Take your time and choose the one you want. Also she have a lot of discount frame which is only $99. It's designer frame. I love this place and will tell my friend to go here.. You will never disappoint.

My friend Becca found this place from Citysearch 2 years ago and I just went there with her for my eye exam (oh yeah, I just moved to Chelsea.... love it) and new glasses. I had some Flex money left and I needed to use it immediately, It turns out after two years of headaches with my glasses from Texas I was wearing a bad prescription. Dr. Rozenberg gave me a new Rx and Jesus (ironic) helped me choose funky new frames and now I see great. I had to tell everyone... great job!! 10/10, I'll be back 2011 with some more Flex $. xxxxThanks.

I had been getting glasses with progressive lenses at 10/10 Optics for over ten years. Each time I got a new pair, I would remark on how narrow the horizontal field of focus was. The friendly staff assured me that this was a necessary limitation of progressive lenses. Shortly after I got my last pair, I realized that the style was a mistake, though I had chosen what I liked best in the store. I found an optician whose styles I liked better and had new glasses made from the SAME prescription. When I put them on, I couldn't believe the improvement in vision quality. They provided a wide, natural field of vision. I asked the optician the reason for the difference. He said that the only apparent reason was that he used Zeiss lenses (a high-quality brand), whereas the 10/10 lenses were not Zeiss. I now feel that my vision may have suffered needlessly for all those years.

I came here after reading reviews and after walking out of another optometrist office who told me that I should take whatever offered because I am a ""difficult fit."" I told this to Ruth who took it as a personal challenge. Well, it's one year later, and I have 3 pairs of glasses from here, and just ordered a 4th. Dr. R gave me a good prescription, and Ruth and Jesus worked w/me for a good fit. For 50 years I was told I could only have small round lenses due to my high prescription-no more! I now have stylish glasses! Ruth will not allow you to get glasses that don't work-she has actually snatched some off my face! Consider that when you go someplace that is only interested in selling you the most expensive item, whether or not it flatters you.\r Sure, 1010 Optics costs more, but if you wear glasses daily, then consider the cost on a daily basis-not so much to look good.

Lovely store. I have a small face and head and have always had to wear child's frames as a result. 10/10 had a big selection of petite frames for grownups. I sat down, and the very first pair that the clerk pulled for me was a win and the one that I ended up buying. But all of the ones that she showed me were beautiful. They have this digital imaging thing where they take pictures of you wearing the different frames so you can see what you look like! So much better than a mirror. I bought a pair of really cute sunglasses, too - they were on sale. Easiest trip to the optometrist that I've ever had - I was in and out in about 10 minutes, no joke. Highly recommend.

After looking at pearle vision and lenscrafters for a pair of rx frames (and being disappointed by the ugly ""versace"" symbols), my mom had heard of this place on the north side of madison square park, We entered and i was skeptical at first but once the lady had us sit down, she just asked what color, i responded tortoise and instantly a dozen frames were at my hands that were all great. lady helping knew exactly what frames would look good with my facial structure and knew what style i was going for. I was torn between two frames and bought a pair of Bevel rx frames. got complimentary rush delivery and couldn't have been more satisfied with my time there. I used to hate glasses and exclusively wore contacts but now i'm eagerly awaiting my new set of frames!

NOW I CAN READ THE FINE PRINT !

I recently went to see Dr. Rozenberg for my regular checkup. My prescription hadn't changed that much but I was having problems reading the fine print in some medical texts, reference books and drug labels. He changed my lenses to a new digital progressive type and it made a world of difference when reading fine print. I came to 10/10 to get ONE new pair of glasses, and I left with 5!! What a great selection they have! I could not resist...the staff was able to help me and fit glasses to MY face, and MY coloring (something which I often find difficult). I decided to get my eyes examined as well, and the Doc was great. Now that I can see, I love looking at myself in the mirror in my new frames...only problem is I can never decide which ones to choose!Love them all. \r 10/10 is now a regular stop in on my shopping trips. \r Thanks!\r K Applebaum

Was given a shot of liqueur after choosing glasses, probably to ease the pain of the cost. Nice selection of glasses but I never spent 915 dollars for a pair of glasses before (frames 200 dollars, 700 dollars for examination and progressive lenses. Very expensive).\r

EYES on the Park!

I got tired of waiting on line at the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park (usually worth the wait) so I took a little walk to see if there was any other food around.... I saw their pretty pictures in the window and thought I'd just check it out.. you know.. a little lunch time eyeglass adventure? I walked in and that was it! LOVED the sunglasses so much that I bought them on the spot. Tortoise shell and turquoise. They were nice, helpful and fast to find this lovely frame... lunchtime was almost over, yogurt for me today... but I'm going back next week to get my eyes examined for contacts. I'll keep you posted.....

An honest disclosure: this is my first public review of anything. The reason I am writing this is b/c I was refered to this place by a friend (who btw, needs glasses only occasionally) and I was completely swayed by the reviews. I know how miserable it can feel when you cannot see properly and I do not want anybody else with higher prescription to make the same mistake I did.\r \r Dr. R is a super nice person but unfortunately not good at what he does. If you have less than simple prescription, I would not recommend Dr. Rozenberg. Despite trying for 6 months he could not get me a proper prescription for either the contact lense or eye glasses. I told him I never experienced so much difficulty with my lenses before. His answer was custom lenses which by the way costs a fortune and he charges extra for his time for fitting. I went through a painful 3 months with the awful prescription when I finally I found my current doctor who was able to get the correct prescription right away. Not only that, I see 20/20 with bi weekly disposable lenses! My new doctor said Dr. Rozenberg's prescription was completely wrong and over corrected. 10/10 also charged me almost double for the lenses (Manhattan overhead I suppose). \r \r Also, the staff messed up my order of trial lenses and it took almost 2 months to get one of the trials. Finally they said they will get it Fed-exed and pay for the charges. But in the final bill they charged me for it anyway. They are super sweet on the outside but not so on the inside.

Can Stay There a Week!!!

Move over Imeda!! I can't believe I own over 15 pair. I go there instead of to a museum and inevitably buy another pair, or 2, or 3. You just can't help yourself. Change your look every day. Costs alot less than plastic surgery and is much less painful. A great store and an experience like no other. Spend an hour or 2 watching the action at 1010 and you will know what I mean. Worth every penny, er dollar. I love them, but which pair should I wear tomorrow? The most fun you will have with your clothes on. Check them out.

I took in my slightly complicated frames for new lenses, and the frames were never the same (the lenses kept popping out.) 1010 gave me new frames for almost half price and new lenses for free -- and they were really nice about it.

I was so surprised to walk in an find everyone smiling. That was a nice surprise, especially now when all the people in shops seem so sad. I said I needed glasses and they helped me find really comfortable great looking glasses that I won't be ashamed to wear in public. I might even look better with them than without them. Ha!! I am so happy to review these guys! They are so nice and friendly. I was very nervous because I never love my glasses and I always think that I know what I am doing when I go to get new ones. I just walked in last week becuse they are near work and I was just going to look around. Believe me, I was so surprised when this chic boutique had such nice staff to help me. I really wasn't going to get glasses but the price was less than I thought and they showed me such a fun frame (handpainted) on Sale.....LOVE THEM!!!!!! \r

The quality of service was fair and the staff was even worse when they learned I had eye insurance. They tried to get me to spend on unnecessary things and refused to accept parts of the insurance coverage. Overpriced and not worth another visit

I read all the reviews here and had to go by. It's all true, this is the best place to get your eyes checked and find a pair of glasses. \r \r The exam was very thorough with the latest technology. I felt like the doctor really was listening to the kind of work I do and discussed what would be good options for me in terms of types of progressives to wear.\r \r They have such a wide selections of frames that they could even find something for my small budget. I only wish I had more money to buy more glasses. It's like being in a candy store. We can just call it eye candy!\r \r They also have the only selection of petite frames for adults that I've ever seen. At last, glasses that fit my face! From now on this is gong to be the only place for me to shop for glasses!\r \r

By far the most pleasant -- and efficient! -- experience I have ever had buying glasses! I have been wearing glasses nearly every day for 25 years and have purchased many glasses from many many different places. I have spent thousands of hours waiting for personal assistance and trying on frames. At 10/10, I received immediate personal assistance and Ruth was right on the money with a frame! I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. 10/10 mixes the great aspects of optician shops ""they way the used to be"" with 21st technology -- great personal service; warm, welcoming, professional environment; great selection; and cameras/monitors that allow you to instantly see different frames on your face. Best of all, the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend 10/10.

The BEST eyecare you can get in NYC!!

I've never been to such a friendly, professional, and overall FANTASTIC eyecare retailer before! Their eye exam is twice the price of what I paid here in Queens, but Dr. Rosenberg and his staff is several hundred times better than ANY eye doctor I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot of them thanks to my family's history of poor eyesight). My appointment was on a Sunday afternoon half an hour before they closed, and they accomodated to me with no hurry at all. Dr. R told me the same thing eye doctors always tell me: ""your eyes are getting worse"", but he was just SO pleasant and conversational that I did not (and still do not!) have the sense of impending doom that I usually get when I walk out of an optometrist's office. I know I needed new contacts, and I'll need new glasses too - I haven't made any plans to purchase them as money is tight. I got no sales pressure at all, and when I called them today to ask for a copy of my prescription to be faxed over, and they did with NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I'm looking forward to my follow-up appointment later this week, and I'll be recommending 10/10 to all the 4-eyes I know!!
