Oh my gosh, these guys were so fantastic. I just can't say enough about what they did for our apartment. I must've gushed about them to a million people - they deserve every bit of good press! My partner and I hired NYC Apartment Painters to redo our home. It's not a very big space but we've got several hard-to-access walls in weird shapes (typical of small NYC apartments squeezed in between air shafts and stairwells and whatnot). Over the years we messed around with colors and textures and tools to reach those corners, and then we got too lazy to retouch or fix up or change. The walls were a complete mess. When we called up these guys they were professional, easygoing and utterly undaunted. My partner is also a bit of a waffler and goes on quite a bit, and the guy on the phone (and in person) were so patient. Getting a quote and making the appointment was easy, no red tape or extra sales pitches. The painters came on time, finished earlier than quoted, and left everything spotlessly clean. They moved everything back to where they were originally. Everything was neat and beautifully done. We loved the result. I fought my partner on hiring painters - sure, we could do everything ourselves, right? - but no, we couldn't have done nearly a tenth of the job these guys did. I'm so happy to have found them and would hire them again and again.

I have been a tenant in two Brusco buildings since 1983 and have always found the Brusco’s to be fair, compromising and very generous, especially to me when things got a bit tough…letting me go three months rent in arrears… making repairs quickly even though I owed them money and even renting to friends of mine who may have not have had all the necessary requirements needed to lease an apartment in this city. By definition, to many folks, landlords are the enemy. And I say, they most assuredly are not! Just as a good director needs good actors to tell his story… good landlords need good tenants to stay in business and you don’t have the kind of Brusco longevity in the real estate business without treating those good tenants fairly and squarely. And they have been doing it for over 50 years… that in and of itself should say something much louder than whatever drivel some cowards choose to write on a social media blog.
We had a great experience with their crew. They painted the interior of most of our apartment (4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms), had them repaint doors, windows and everything else. Their work was well done and thorough, and they had no problem adapting when I threw last minute requests at them. For example, while they were there, I asked them to remove the brass frame around my fireplace, which they did at no cost. I also asked if they could tighten the bannister on our stairs and rebuild our back steps. They did both for very reasonable costs. The only critique that I'd had of working with them was that they didn't provide an itemized breakdown of the costs in an invoice. However, when I typed it up and asked them to confirm, they did so, so at least I have some record of the work they did. I would probably use them again on future projects, though. They're very hard workers and eager to do any projects I threw at them.
