welcome to the neighborhood, rosina! my roommate and i have been eagerly awaiting your arrival and you did not disappoint. we split a caesar (one of the best i had in a while) and each ordered our own personal pie. brick oven, people, brick oven. i devoured my margarita and she also enjoyed hers (one with mushroom and red peppers). sometimes a cocktail and nosh is all you want. happy to see such a selection. the service from the hostess to our waiter and bussers made us feel like part of the family. we will be back if not regulars. they also serve brunch more breakfast than lunch, but you can pick from one of their many pizzas.
A La Turka was one of the best dining experiences ever! Not only in Turkish restaurants. I have tried Turkish food at least in ten different places in NYC. I can tell this is the only one that makes real delicious Turkish food (according to my Turkey travel experience)The drinks were amazing, the food was to die for and the people were so friendly! We loved everything and would recommend to everyone we know. Just order mixed grill, mixed appetizer sampler and pick your favorite, if you can.
a very delicious place for your next falafel stop. this place is full of nice people who are ready to take orders and deliver healthy meals. try their specials with spicy french fries and soda for only $5.99 (Gyro sand, or chicken Pita) . also try their delicious meal of vegetable rice and salad with either gyro meat or chicken kebob for only $6.99. so make sure your next stop is a falafel express stop.!!
Pao means bread in Portuguese. The food is a bit "americanized" but still good. The music should enhance the ambience, that is, of making you feel you are tasting a bit of Portugal. They should play fado for those who are not familiar with it. You should not go to a Portuguese restaurant to hear Mariah Carey! Let me get back to the food. Bacalhau is very good as is the caldo verde. Go!
What I've had there: the Fried Goat Cheese with lavender infused honey, Spinach Salad with dried cherries, toasted pine nuts and red onion, Smoked Mozzarella in shredded filo, tomato and red onion salad with caramelized balsamic, and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Fuji apples, creme fraiche and pistachio nuts. And Alta's Non-Classic (white) Sangria was very yummy and very strong!
The food is great and so is the service. The waiters are friendly, with nice soft music. What else you can ask for? The sangria is definitely the best i every tried! Cons: The goat cheese croquets that I order as an appetizers was a little bit colder that i would be expected to be. Overall great place! I definitely plan on coming back soon!
What a fabulous place. Great ambiance - such a cool setup and location! Walls made of wine bottles, glass walls to look into where the wine kegs are. The wine is out of this world and the food was even great! Really great night out and we saw a fun band (Fab Faux) that made the night even better. Highly recommend you visit this place!
Wow, what great meal. The fried calamari and the babagalush was delicious. the bread and the olive oil dip was wonderful. We both had shish kabob and the salad that came with it was so tasty and the lamb was seasoned to perfection. The baklava dessert was to die for. All very reasonalble-price fix dinner
the truly Italian restaurant where the food is simple, fresh and the service is very friendly but efficient we go there everytime we are in N>Y> and we never disappointed The pasta are the best, specially the lasagna and the scialatielli with seafood better than in Positano Great wine list
After a few trips to Turkey I love their food and took the opportunity to stop in for lunch. This is a wonderful restaurant. Decorated attractively, it was both clean and inviting. They offered both an extensive lunch menu and a regular menu but the value in the lunch menu was outstanding.
