The Donut Bakery is about the best Bakery in eastern New Orleans, but that isn't saying much when there are only a total of three bakeries in the eastern area of New Orleans. Pre-Katrina their donuts had more flavor, but they are still decent. The worst thing about the business are the two harrassing young female cashiers who work the front counter. They seem to only bother the male customers for a tip for every transaction!!!!! A dozen of donuts cost $6, it takes them 15 seconds to hand them to you and they will ask you..."where is my tip", or "do you have a tip for me", or don't forget to tip me". TIP FOR WHAT!!!! Now I believe in tipping a minimum of 15% for okay service and much more for excellent service, BUT FOR PUTTING DONUTS IN A BOX!!!! C'mon!....get real! Female members of my family have gone and they said they haven't been harrassed about this but my brothers and cousins have been bothered by this also. MEN BEWARE THE CASHIERS WILL TRY AND PLAY MIND GAMES WITH YOU AFTER A 15 SECOND TRANSACTION!
I had just recently purchased a birthday cake from Adrian's Bakery; and, the cake was phenomenal. My daughter's birthday party was held at the famous Creole Creamery. The employees there had also spoken highly of my daughter's cake. Last, year her father to picked Haydels Bakery the cake was beautifully done; but it failed taste wise, it was very dry and extremely hard to get rid of this cake. However, Adrian's Bakery had my entire guest including, the children asking for "seconds". I was elated that I had redeemed myself from last year's "woos”. The cake was very scrumptious and freshly prepared. The "Cake Decorator" was able to sit with me and discuss various cake art and etc. for my daughter's birthday. I give them "Five stars" for their superb customer service, their detailed cake art, and their “FRESHLY” prepared cakes.
Jenny, Our cake was just awesome. It did not have too much going on- it was the perfect amount of decorating for the size and it meshed well with our theme. I hope you enjoyed making it as much as we enjoyed eating it! :) On a serious note, we really appreciated your flexibility in working with our ideas. It is rare to find the right balance of taste and aesthetics. The cake itself truly was edible art. Some cakes are pretty but taste unpalatable – this was not the case here: several guest asked who made the cake because it was delicious. To sum it up, we are happy to have found you guys and if we are ever in need of confections, we would definitely do business with you again.
