About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Agreed, the Voodoo Museum is t...

Agreed, the Voodoo Museum is tiny and silly. But the reason to go is Carol, the proprietor. She's a crack-up, and when I was looking for just the right voodoo doll, she said "I'll give you something better," and proceeded to look through the Farmers Almanac and write out a whole calendar for me on the best days for success -- kind of like a reading, only free! She seriously did this just to be nice. Plus, someone called while I was waiting and she gave them free advice on how to perform some sort of ritual. Of course it is probably all hogwash, but the vibe in this place does feel like authentic Nola when you dig a little deeper and get to know the locals. Plus, I had no idea there is really such a thing as a "zombie," technically speaking, until I visited here. Who knew? For $5, it's a fun little distraction on your way through the quarter.

I visited several times as a child with school groups. Loved it then -- love it now. One night in the French Quarter they were having a party there -- I talked to the party-goers and they invited me into the party -- a great and unique venue for a night-time party. I have a tour guide license and visited shortly after I got my license in 2005. The history is for the most part accurate and well-presented. I recommend it. If you like this, you'll also enjoy Mardi Gras World. Both attractions have a "roadside attraction" feel to them.
