Overall

A friend of a friend as well as our Hotel Concierge told us to go here. The service was great. I had the Redfish Blackened. It was good but not great.

Another great NOLA restaurant.... the oysters were out of this world!! Friendly staff, very helpful with recommendations of what was good to eat/ drink... the only negative aspect was that the recommended gratuity is added on as standard onto the bill, eventhough there were only two of us eating together. We have no objection to paying a gratuity, but we...

outstanding

The food was outstanding and new to my wife and I. The waitress Jamie was extremely friendly and encouraged us to try adding fried crayfish to our Mardi gras pasta which made it even more amazing. She even acted as an impromptu tour guide and directed us to less touristy places that felt more authentic. The crab cakes were also to die for. I will definitely be coming back here. 5 stars. If you go be sure to ask for Jamie.

Amazing

I came here while taking a trip across america from California to New Jersey. Amazingly, we found this place open late at night at 12 am. I was so hungry, but wasn't sure what to get. We ordered the triple platter dish that had Gumbo, etouffee, and something else.

I would highly recommend!

My brother in law told us about this restaurant and it is in a great location in the French Quarter. I really liked it because it had an upscale feel with a casual dress code. I got the shrimp fettucine which had an incredible cream sauce. My husband had the barbeque shrimp (southern style not the usual BBQ shrimp) and he enjoyed it. I would highly recommend!

A hidden Gem in the French Quarter

I happend to stumble upon this place on a hot, humid afternoon last week on my first trip to NOLA. It was the busy, work week lunch hour. I was greeted by friendly faces at the door, promptly seated and immediately served a huge ice cold glass of water. The young waitress was friendly and informative. The decor was cute & cozy and the A/C nice and cool.

When I asked her what she recommended she said the Crab Cakes. I told her I had a big breakfast and had a long walk back so I didn't want anything too heavy. She was kind enough to let me know that the appetizer crabcakes were the same size as the meal without all the sides - Perfect! (She also said they were 90% crab and she wasn't kidding. They had the most crab I have ever seen in a crabcake!) I ordered them and a small Greek salad.

They came out almost immediately, were HUGE and were smothered in the most wonderful gravy that I ate all of it before ever touching the salad! (Which was big and tasty too) I was stuffed to the gills!!! My water was promptly refilled during my meal and my empty plates promptly removed (all w/o asking). All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is a casual little place, tucked away just off Boubon St that you just have to try if you are there. I will definitely be back.

A few notes on past reviews:
To Jon: Your food server IS mainly to blame for how your evening went. No restaurant dedicates one server to one party - regardless of the size - EVER. It is up to him to coordinate your drink orders, advise a busboy or another server to check on your party when he cannot. He also has to learn how to coordinate your meals with the kitchen and if there was a bit of a wait, HE should have informed you up front. Seems to me if you were pressed for time then you should have informed him of such. You failed to mention that this is a SMALL place and if it was full or not. This is not a chain restaurant, it's home cooking and real home cooking takes time.

Maybe you should stand in your kitchen and set out 10 plates and 6 bowls. Place all the salad fixings into each plate, stop and read your ticket for which dressing they get, apply them and then pour hot liquid into each bowl. Place them on trays and walk through a small obstacle course of tables and people and steps - I bet it takes you ALOT longer than your 23 minute wait. If you're food didn't taste good than you should have sent it back.

Seems to me you have no clue how the food & beverage industry works and next time - if you and your friends want a quick meal - Go to Denny's.

I am with Sandra and TexasDiablo (I'm from Texas/NY as well and have worked in some of the finest cuisine establishments in both states.) I agree with both of their reviews.
