The name says it all!

Margaritaville, New Orleans, was a surprise for me. Never having visited more than the Las Vegas location, I wasn't disappointed in the drinks, food, or service. In fact, the coziness of the N.O. location made it feel a little more ""homey"". The drinks are always top notch, the food is...well, some items are just plain bar and pub choices, while others are a little more involved. There is something on the menu for everyone. The service was good but a little disoriented when we we...view morere first seated; I never had to wait on anything so no complaints, it just took a while to figure out who our actual server was. Each member of management came by and checked on our satisfaction; some hung around and had ""tourist"" conversation, which I personally welcome although some do not. Everyone was friendly as I expected, and yes there are alot of tourists there so the crowds come and go. The gift shop is like any of the other locations, a little cramped but had plenty of choices for merchandise. I recommend going there if for nothing else than to see the decor, have yourself a 'rita, and enjoy the tunes!view less

Parrotheads Wanted

Come for the food and fun and the decor! Even the restrooms are decorated to the max with parrothead and Jimmy Buffett decor. The food is a bit pricey..but delicious!

good bbq shrimp

any new orleans native knows that bbq shrimp isnt slathered with bbq sauce, instead it's covered in an oily spiced up mix that keeps the shrimp moist and delicious, this is what this place provides. the service was a bit slow and the atmosphere is toristy.

I am a local and well... I LIKE IT!

I walk in there and I feel like I'm in another world. One made out of beaches with sand and plam trees. Surprisingly, this place isn't really a tourist trap. Their food is moderately priced and they serve the BEST MARGARITAS EVER!

Not a fast food joint

I used to live across the street from Margaritaville in New Orleans. The food was always GREAT and the music as well. \r
This is not a fast food joint...for the guy who ordered food to go....besides that, when you come to New Orleans, taking food to go is not the way...sit down and relax and enjoy, for goodness sakes!\r
I have had those same fritters, and they are great, but probably not so great after being in a styrofoam container for ten or fifteen minutes!\r
Also, for the people
...view more who seated themselves....FYI--- seating yourself in a restaurant is a really good way of guaranteeing yourself no service or to be moved by employees.\r
The waitstaff have SECTIONS and if where you sit is not an open section, you probably will not get any service.\r
I miss Margaritaville N.O., and I wish them the best!\r

Extremely disappointing food....

I ordered takeout: corn and crab bisque and conch fritters. When I arrived at my hotel, a ten minute walk, I opened the bag to find a fork and knife, but no spoon with which to eat the soup. So I pulled out the fork, took a taste of the soup, and lo and behold, it was barely lukewarm, which tells me it was not properly heated before being put in the container. It was then on to the fritters. I opened the styrofoam container to find seven greasy, nearly burned fritters. The edges were a...view morectually black. This was 14 dollars worth of food. Because I was starving (and had just spent 14 bucks) I ate the now room temperature soup and a few of the fritters. I would have enjoyed a happy meal more and saved 12 bucks. \r
\r
Only saving grace, the Margarita I got to go. It helped numb the food debacle.

Excellent Mojitos and Margaritas

As a local, this isn't a place I would go hang out at, since I consider it a 'tourist trap.' Also, the thought of listening to nonstop Jimmy Buffet music makes me want to gag. The decor is cheesy and commercial. I can't speak of the food, I've never tried it. HOWEVER! The margaritas, and especially the mojitos, are absolutely EXCELLENT. makes it worth a stop in there, to get a drink to go and walk around the quarter. a bit pricy, but worth it. and they have a nice balcony upstairs whic...view moreh gets crowded, but if you can snag a seat there, a good view of Decatur St below. the real fun for locals is at Molly's across the street!view less

GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE -SKIP THE STORE

61905 GREAT DINNER EXCELLENT SERVICE SKIP THE STORE 945pm, I interupted some one vacumming the carpet at the front door. When I asked if they were still open, I was told yes for a few more minutes so ""MAKE IT QUICK"", we went in, I was reminded by the sarcastic salesladies that the store closes at 10pm. It was an indirect comment, they were making amongst themselves. So I decided to leave. But my KIDS were heartbroken. So I asked for the manager, to my surprise she was the ring lea...view moreder. She was rude and could give a flip about any of my complaints. Luckily my wife remembered seeing some shirts in the resturant for sale. So we went back and the friendly folks in the resturant helped us. As we left the store the manager locked it behind us, it wasn't 10pm another group was trying to get in.view less

Rude staff!

Were yelled at and refused service! Upon entering, followed sign to balcony. Before we got in elevator, hostess grabbed us, said we weren't allowed upstairs without approval, then she said we could go up. When we got upstairs, saw no employees or customers inside. Sat at one of MANY empty balcony tables. Another employee came to our table and told us we had to leave since staff hadn't seated us. We commented we'd seen no employees. She snapped, said we were wrong and 5 employees ar...view moree on duty at entrance to prevent people like us from entering on our own. Said only place we could sit were tire swings at inside bar. Having been yelled at and not allowed to eat or drink, we left. We looked around entrance, again saw none of the employees who were supposed to have been there. Why spend money where the customer isn't appreciated?view less
