this is a real new orleans place. families, politicians, community members all stay for a while and eat food that is made out in the open before your eyes. the atmosphere is cheerful and high energy. business is getting done at one table and people are just relaxing at another. good omelets, don't care for the toast, well-priced food. what you are really paying for, however, is the time to sit down and have an enjoyable meal in the historic treme neighborhood.

Im sorry to say I was very disappointed in the breakfast. I got the scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were stale and so was the biscuit ,it was hard on one side and cold and so were the hashbrowns. I could have had a better breakfast at Mc Donalds. I won't be back . But I will say everybody that worked there was very nice and greeted us when we came in.

I?m very picky when eating southern cuisine at restaurants, because I feel that no one can top or even come close to my mother?s southern home cooked meals. Since I was on vacation, I thought I?d give Lil Dizzy?s a try. I?m still raving about how good the food was, I wish I was enjoying it at this moment. I wanted to sample everything on the menu, and encouraged members of my party to try something different so I could sample it. I ordered catfish, eggs and grits. I never order grits anywhere, because they are usually lumpy and have no flavor. But not at Lil Dizzy's, the grits were hot, tasty and oh so smooth. It was prepared just as my mother had cooked it herself. My friend ordered the crab and cheese omelet and it was heavenly as well. Everything was perfect, right down to the southern hospitality. I felt as if I was eating breakfast in the family kitchen, while the ladies in my family continued to prepare the meal, while listening to R&B soul music, just as I did when I was a little girl. The entire staff was friendly and helped us with our menu selections. Lil Dizzy?s is now my restaurant of choice whenever I?m in New Orleans.
