Hotel Royal - I booked a room at this hotel through Travelosity for Aug 23, and received confirmation. On the night of August 22, I called the hotel and RECONFIRMED my reservation, and let the young lady know I would be arriving late. All was ok. I was told I had a room, and a late arrival was fine. When I got there however, a young caucasian gentleman, told me he had bad news, there was no room. As I stated previously, I had told them I would be arriving late, so it was after 9pm. I am an African American female, who was traveling alone. Not only did the young man tell me that my room was unavailable, but there were "no" rooms, upgrades or otherwise available. While I was there, he was SUPPOSEDLY confirming and reconfirming this info, and was trying to get in contact with Travelosity, etc. Then, in walks a "NON AFRICAN AMERICAN" couple, who were promptly given a room! When I questioned how they were being given a room when there were "no rooms" available, he told me they had already booked their room. I told him that I had also booked my room, and confirmed it the night before, and that he had just told me there were "no rooms, upgrades or otherwise, he still did nothing except tell me to call Travelosity. I asked for his name, the name of the young lady I had spoken with, and the manager. Just want you to know too (don't know if he gave his name or not, but names were Nyatt H, Joanie R, and the general managers name is allegedly Kenny Maars. I was alone in the city at night, and this is what I got. I was a customer!! I had already paid through Travelosity.
