This must be one of N.O.'s best kept secrets! My husband and I went there after reading the reviews here and we were quite delighted. It's small but very personable and the food was extremely tasty. I just had appetizers and a salad - charbroiled oysters w/ blue cheese and sweet potato soup. My husband had a delicious fish dish w/ / acorn squash. Our waitress, Michelle, was very knowledgeable and helpful. She only works only Wednesdays and has been there since it's opening in '05. Prices are fair. One warning is that if you go there expecting to enjoy the Happy Hour, of discounted drinks and an appetizer, you must sit in designated area. (We were not told about that and escorted to a table in the middle of the restaurant.) Also, I found all of the white wines to be too dry for my taste. (However, Michelle was extremely gracious in allowing me to try several before settling on a Savignon Blanc ). All in all it was a very good experience and we plan to become regular customers.
I moved from Dallas, TX where there's several Chipotle restaurants. The food at this one is just as awesome but their service is a bit lacking. Most of the people are new, and still getting into the groove of things. But the place is still very new, and in a prime food location, so they are going to be busy regardless. If you think the food is awesome, like I do, then its worth the wait.
IT'S TACO BELL. If you need me to say anything else to know what you're getting here, then you clearly haven't lived a fulfilling life. Go for the crunchwrap. Go for the quesadilla. Go for the loaded griller. Go for the Baja Blast. Just go and support the deliciousness that is a Taco Bell back in New Orleans proper.
