Hal's Harley-Davidson started out in 1959 as J&S Cycles in West Allis, Wisconsin. In 1978, which was the Motor Company's 75th Anniversary year, Hal Topel acquired the dealership and changed its name to Hal's Harley-Davidson. Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Hal grew up on his grandfather Earl's Nash-Rambler dealership where he learned the operations side of the business. By the mid 70s, Hal's son, Kirk, was sharing his father's love of motorcycles. These weekend rides were the seed that ultimately grew into what is now Hal's Harley-Davidson. In June of 2016, the Dealership entered a third chapter in its 57 year legacy. The mantle has been passed to Sara Pomeroy, a local enthusiast with a passion for preserving the heritage of the past and building upon it through continued investment in people. Rooted in the "service first" philosophy, Hal's Harley-Davidson remains an active place where customers don't just become friends but are part of the family.
