Great food great atmosphere. Old stagecoach stop from 1890. My vegetarian wife loved the Spanikopita. I had the flintstone t bone. We split the organic salad with goat cheese Oreos. Amazing place in the forest. Just outside Nevada city. We played bocce ball on their lighted court under the stars. Can't wait to go back.

Salad fresh, but the chicken dish is cooked with olive oil, bones in, & u get a half bag of flavorless broccoli on the side. It's like they're punishing us 4 not eating the steak. Asparagus tough too.
Just stopped in with my wife after skiing last week. We are from the city (SF) and were very surprised to find such a sophisticated menu in the middle of the forest. The place has this elegant old west charm, but the food is so international. They do have an interesting regular menu, but their specials come from a different country each month. This is their "Roadhouse food from around the world thing". We tried the Moroccan lamb stew and were impressed that the flavors were so vibrant and so different. Never been to Morocco, but now I'm intrigued. My wife had the Argentine skirt steak that was off the hook - with a green sauce that was zesty worked well with the big juicy flavor of the steak. Home made apple strudel with a creamy sauce that was warm and yum.
We talked to some locals who said they were enjoying their meal but I don't know if they were as tickled as we were to find this place out here in the wilderness. Oh yeah, the caesar salad was about the best I've had in any big city restaurant. We wanna come back and try more.
I went to the 5 Mile House for lunch last Sunday and stumbled across a great Blues show, what a treat. When I talked to my server she said they have Blues every Sunday, I will be returning there for sure.
